At present,there are a lot of literature about the analysis and evaluation of FLTRP textbooks in junior high school,including both external and internal evaluation.However,there are relatively few researches on topics.Many researchers have conducted research and analysis on one of the textbooks.There are not many researches on topic analysis and few researches on topic interest analysis of five compulsory textbooks systematically.This study will fill the gap in this area and enrich the relevant research on the analysis and evaluation of junior high school textbooks.In this way,some practical suggestions are put forward for the selection and arrangement of topics in junior high school English textbooks,which will also help teachers to make full use of textbooks,choose and add the contents of textbooks,and arrange teaching activities.Context theory,cognitive learning theory and constructivism learning theory lay a solid theoretical foundation for this study.Text analysis,questionnaire and literature research are the basic research methods of this study.It is found that in terms of topic distribution,these textbooks reflect richness and diversity in topic selection,but the number of topics in the natural context is less than that in other contexts.As far as the characteristics of learners' topic interest,most of the topics that learners are least interested in are not close to their daily life and are abstract and difficult to understand.Most of the topics that junior high school students are most interested in are related to their daily life,with a more relaxing and pleasant atmosphere.As far as the influencing factors of topic interest,there are obvious differences between boys and girls and between key middle school students and ordinary middle school students.
