English writing is one of the essential skills learners must acquire in the process of second language learning, and also an important dimension for measuring learners’ comprehensive capacity. In recent years, many scholars have actively explored the factors that affect students’ writing ability.Among them, writing assessment has attracted great attention from scholars at home and abroad.TSCA,a new comprehensive assessment model, has been mainly explored from its effects on students’overall English writing ability, yet few studies focused on its effect on English writing accuracy. This study investigated the effects of teacher-student collaborative assessment(TSCA in short)on senior high school students’ English writing accuracy from three perspectives, the lexical accuracy, grammatical accuracy and accuracy in textual cohesionBased on the Production-oriented Approach and the Process writing theory, this study mainly addressed the following three questions1)What effects does TSCA have on the lexical accuracy of students’English writing?2)What effects does TSCA have on the grammatical accuracy of students’ English writing?3)What effects does TSCA have on the accuracy in textual cohesion of students’ English writing? Both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed in the 10-week study, whose participants were recruited from a senior high school in Changsha. The data were then submitted to SPSS 21.0 for further analysis. The major findings are as follows1)TSCA had a positive impact on lexical accuracy of senior high school students’English writing, but the effect was not significant The results of the experiment show that students’ lexical accuracy improved on collocation use and word choices2)TSCA can effectively improve students’ grammatical accuracy Before the experiment, errors like subject-verb agreement and tense were common among students. After the experiment, students in the experimental group have made a great progress in these aspects3)TSCA was conductive to improving learners’ accuracy in textual cohesion.Students in the experimental group became more familiar with the use of reference and conjunctionThis study confirms the feasibility and effectiveness of the TSCA model on English writing accuracy, which sheds light on English writing instruction.Yet,the relatively short experimental time and the proficiency level of the participants may limit its generalizability.
