Chu Chao-hsin was a career diplomat in the period of the Republic of China.Since he returned to China in 1913,he has been active in the political and diplomatic activities of the Republic of China.During his long diplomatic career,he made every effort to safeguard China's sovereignty and seriously handled various negotiations. In modern times,China signed a series of unequal treaties with foreign powers, and China's sovereignty was embezzled by these unequal treaties and gradually reduced to a semi-colonial country.Chu Chao-hsin strongly advocated abolishment, believing that the injustice treaty hindered China's development and seriously damaged China's sovereignty.Since the May 30 th Movement in 1925,the abrogation movement has sprung up in China.Chu Chao-hsin was good at making speeches, and made many speeches on the abolition of unequal treaties in the League of Nations. These speeches are combined with the abrogation movement in China. On the issue of opium,Chu Chao-hsin advocated the prohibition of opium. He delivered a speech on opium prohibition in the League of Nations, exposing the crime of great powers selling opium to China, vigorously promoting China's opium-free monopoly policy, and improving China's international image.Chu Chao-hsin cares for overseas Chinese and actively protects the interests of overseas Chinese. In 1931,when Japan launched a war of aggression against China,Chu Chao-hsin advocated fighting against Japan. He proposed that "Japan must lose three times and I will gain six benefits" in the war against Japan.Chu Chao-hsin's diplomatic propositions show a kind of patriotism and the foresight of diplomats. In his long-term diplomatic practice,Chu Chao-hsin actively negotiated with other countries to safeguard China's rights and interests and diplomatic image. He initially demonstrated his professionalism as a diplomat in the Gulangyu court, managing the registration of German overseas Chinese and negotiating the Tongji Medical School case during his tenure as a special negotiator in Jiangsu, and accumulated experience in negotiation. When he was acting in Britain,he negotiated with Britain on the Shanghai case.He pointed out that the Shanghai case was caused by unequal treaties and advocated the revision of unequal treaties.Chu Chaohsin worked hard to win the seat of the Executive Yuan of the League of Nations in the League of Nations, and achieved some success, which was not easy in modern times when China's national strength was weak and its international status was low.In 1928,when Chu Chao-hsin was a negotiator in Guangdong,he took back the location of the old French consular office in Guangzhou and assisted the Guangxi government to take back the British consular office in Wuzhou, which not only greatly safeguarded China's sovereignty, but also encouraged the development of the abrogation movement in the Republic of China. In diplomacy,Chu Chao-hsin safeguarded China's sovereignty and national interests, and promoted China's international status. However,Chu Chao-hsin's diplomatic propositions and diplomatic practice are influenced by the background of the times. On the one hand,Chu Chao-hsin's diplomatic proposition is influenced by the background of the times;on the other hand, because modern China's national strength is weak and suppressed by unequal treaties, and it is in a passive position in diplomacy, the influence of Chu Chao-hsin's diplomatic practice is limited.
