The Phonetics Research Of The Local Dialect Of Zhangshu,Yichun City,Jiangxi Province

Zhangshu is located in the western part of Jiangxi Province and is located in Yichun City.This paper takes the phonetic of Zhangshu dialect as the research object,described the phonetic systems of Zhangshu dialect,found the phonological features,listed the homophony syllabary,and also made a further analysis about literary and colloquial readings and two special tone modifications.The article is divided into six parts.The first chapter expounds the content,significance,and methods of research;expounds the source of the corpus and the situation of the speakers;introduces Zhangshug's geography condition,population profile,use of dialects,as well as the research status of Zhangshu dialects.The second chapter describes the phonological system of Zhangshu dialect and the composition relationship of Zhangshu dialect's phonetic elements,summarizes Zhangshu dialect's phonological characteristics.The Zhangshu dialect has a total of22 initials,64 finals and 5 tunes.The main phonological characteristics of the Zhangshu dialect include that the ancient voiced initials has basically merged with the secondary-Qing(??)initials when they are stops or affricates;The Ni-Mu(??)has combined with Lai-Mu(??)in front of the XongYin(??);there is no one a final“y”in Zhangshu dialect;the Guo-She(??)finalsis are basically pronounced as“o”final;the Xian-She(??)has basically merged with Shan-She(??);the entering tone is retained;the entering finals have stop endings and so on.The third chapter lists the homophony syllabary of Zhangshu dialect.The fourth chapter discusses Zhangshu dialect's literary and colloquial readings in the following three contexts:initials,finals and tones.It is concluded that part of the the ancient voiced initials pronounced as stops or affricates have colloquial readings which are aspirated voiceless initials and literary readings which are unaspirated voiceless initials;Geng-She(??),Yu-She(??),Xie-She(??)and Zhi-She(??)have many literacy and colloquial readings.The fifth chapter summarizes two special tone modifications in Zhangshu dialect,including Chinese words' tone sandhi resistance and The tone modification of Personal Pronouns.The former one has nothing to do with the phonetic environment,but is related to the grammatical and semantic conditions.And the words' tones of disyllable consists of(1)X+44,X=441//35//21//22//42(2)X+21,X=441//35//21//22 //42(3)X+42,X=441//35//21//22//42(4)35+44.The tone modification of Personal Pronouns,which happens when personal pronouns are plural forms,objects or possessive attributes,can express affection of intimacy and familiarity and weaken semantics.The conclusion part of Chapter Six generalizes Zhangshu dialect's phonological characteristics,set forth the innovations,deficiencies and questions which remain to be further research.
