Yuan Mei was a master of poetry in the middle of the Qing Dynasty,in poetry, poetry Theory, novels and other aspects of all have achieve. His "theory of nature and spirit",Shen deqian’s "theory of style" and Weng Fanggang’s "theory of texture" constitute the literary theory of the Qing Dynasty.Although not a scholar,Yuan Mei actively participated in the debate on Confucian classics during the Qianjia period and made a series of opinions with his own characteristics.During the gan-jia period, there were many debates on the study of the Book of songs from the perspective of Confucian classics.Yuan Mei also interpreted the book of songs from the perspective of Confucian classics,Yuan Mei’s rich poetic theory and experience led him to interpret the book of songs from a literary perspective.Yuan Mei’s comments on the book of songs are mainly concentrated on the collection of essays in Xiaokang Shanfang, essays in the garden, letters in Xiaokang Shanfang and notes on poems in the garden, which also reflects Yuan Mei’s views on the book of songs. This paper attempts to sort out these works, extract their concepts, mainly from the Confucian classics and literature to sum up Yuan Mei on the book of songs,so as to fully grasp Yuan Mei’s view of the book of songs. In the introduction part,it mainly discusses the research status of Yuan Mei’s view of the book of songs and the research methods and value of this paper. In the first chapter,"In front of Zheng Kong’s door did not turn back,Cheng Zhu did not linger on the seat",Yuan Mei’s position on the book of Songs;during the gan-jia period,Sinology was in conflict with song learning, and Yuan Mei actively participated in it.Yuan Mei was not a confucian scholar,so his position on the study of the classics did not need to be firmly on one side or the other, discussing the subject entirely according to his own will.First of all,Yuan Mei thought that "Confucius,Zheng,Cheng, and Zhu all have their drawbacks",neither agreed with the Song Confucian Scholars "Ye Yin said",and the Song Confucian Scholars "erotic poetry" on the book of songs.Secondly,Yuan Mei did not agree with the introduction of textual research into poetry, the introduction of textual research into poetry, and the introduction of textual research into poetry.Influenced by the style of textual criticism,Yuan Mei insisted that poetry should stay away from textual criticism and concentrate on writing poems with emotion. Finally,Yuan Mei did not agree with the lofty status of "six classics".He thought that "six classics are all articles",equated the status of "study of classics" with "Literature",and dispelled the lofty status of "study of classics".The second chapter is Yuan Mei’s views on issues related to the book of songs.First, the book of songs is so old that many of its authors can not be consulted.Yuan Mei discusses the authorship of the Book of songs and identifies some of its authors.Second, regarding the problem of "erotic poetry" identified by Song Confucians,Yuan Mei affirmed that the love between men and women could also be included in poetry from the perspective of spirit theory, and denied the view of "erotic poetry".Thirdly, whether Confucius deleted poems or not is a very controversial issue in the study of the book of songs, and Yuan Mei also put forward his own views on this issue.Fourth,Yuan Mei made a textual research on the use of rhyme in the book of songs, compared ancient rhyme with modern rhyme, and criticized the theory of Ye Yin.Fifthly,Yuan Mei also researched some controversial words and objects in the book of songs. The third chapter is Yuan Mei’s study of the book of songs and his literary thoughts.Yuan Mei’s study of the book of songs is centered on the theory of temperament.Yuan Mei believes that "poetry must be true feelings",the book of songs so high status because of its poetry creation depends on the true feelings, directly express the mind,in the poetry into the true feelings can be spread for centuries.Yuan Mei believes that the true feelings include not only the lofty feelings of home and country, the feelings that have to be expressed in the heart, but also the "feelings of men and women" which are not accepted by the common customs. In particular, when the Song Dynasty confucians criticized the "erotic poems" in the book of songs,Yuan Mei strongly disagreed with the idea of "erotic poems" and thought that the love between men and women was also a part of "true feelings",can also be expressed in a form of poetry.Yuan Mei believes that there is no distinction between high and low emotions,as long as it is directly written embrace, natural expression,is "sounds of nature",is the best poetry.Yuan Mei used the book of songs, some of which he thought were "sounds of nature",to prove his "sounds of nature" point of view.Because Yuan Mei approved of "true feelings" in poetry, each person’s emotion is different, and the poetic style of creation is also diverse."The book of Songs" is such,"Zhen Yin is changing" all-inclusive,so spread until now.Yuan Mei took the book of songs as an example to demonstrate his point of view, arguing that poetry should have a variety of styles. On the basis of this proposition,Yuan Mei presents a series of views on the system of poetry.Yuan Mei objected to the fixed meter for poetry, against the poetry of mechanical imitation, against the poetry of rigid allusions, advocates poetry without empty words.
