In recent years,the innovation and development of English teaching are promoted by the deepening of educational reform."General High School English Curriculum Standards" clearly states that according to the communication needs and cognitive development level of high school students,teachers must pay attention to training students' critical thinking in high school English teaching.With the advent of the information age,especially the Internet age,people must accept and judge some information critically.Therefore,according to the high school English curriculum standards and the requirements of adapting to the development of the times,it is necessary for English teachers to develop students' critical thinking skills.Infusion teaching method is one of the effective teaching methods to cultivate critical thinking.This study attempts to explore the cultivation of critical thinking of senior high school students by Infusion teaching method,and specifically examines the impact of students' critical thinking disposition and students' reading grades by Infusion Teaching.It aims to explore effective ways to cultivate students' critical thinking.The study first selects the two classes as the research subjects in xx middle school in Yan'an,one experimental class,one control class.Before the experiment,the two classes are tested in English reading test and critical thinking disposition.At the 9th week of the experiment,a reading test is conducted on two classes.At the end of the experiment,independent sample T test and descriptive analysis are used to test whether students' critical thinking disposition and reading level are improved.Finally,the results are analyzed in light of social and cultural theory.The following conclusion are drawn:(1)In the infusion-approached English reading teaching,students' critical thinking disposition have been improved,especially in seeking truth,analysis,curiosity and maturity.(2)Students' English reading performance has improved significantly under infusion teaching.In other words,combining critical thinking skills with content teaching is effective both forstudents' critical thinking development and content learning.This research may provide some reference for developing students' critical thinking ability in middle school English teaching,but there are the following deficiencies: First,the sample size is small.Second,the experiment period is short.It is hoped that these deficiencies will be improved in future studies to enhance the reliability and validity of the research.
