An Analysis Of Bird Patterns In Ancient Chinese Costumes

Birds are closely related to people's lives in the long history.With its abundant varieties,graceful shapes and outstanding moral,bird pattern had become one of the most common patterns in Chinese artistic creation.Bird patterns have been influenced by people's aesthetic consciousness and values in various historical periods,showing different modeling features and combination forms.Bird patterns are often decorated in various kinds of clothes by weaving and embroidering.With the development of the times,China's dyeing and weaving technology has been continuously improved,and the forms of bird patterns on clothing have become more and more abundant,which not only meet the daily needs of users,but also reflect the background of the times,social mentality and aesthetic taste,and have far exceeded the value and significance of patterns themselves.This article takes the bird pattern in the traditional clothing as the research object.Firstly,starting from the literature,this paper summarizes the research status of domestic and foreign scholars,sorts out the origin and development of bird pattern,and seeks the basis and support for the subject.Based on the reports of unearthed cultural relics and other information,the paper traces the development and changes of bird design in different stages,explore the historical origin and inheritance value of bird patterns,and form a preliminary understanding of bird patterns.Secondly,a large number of pictures and materials were collected from the databases of the folk costumes Museum of Jiangnan University,the Palace Museum and the China Silk Museum,the clothing with bird pattern was analyzed by using the methods of image drawing,statistics analysis,physical induction and other methods.This paper sorts out and sums up the modeling,combination and collocation of traditional bird patterns,conducts in-depth research on the evolution law of bird patterns on clothing in combination with the background of the times and the human environment,summarizes its development trend and style changes,and constructs a data system of bird patterns.Thirdly,we should interpret the evolution of the function of bird pattern,explore its internal ethical function,aesthetic function and symbolic function,experience the cultural meaning of bird pattern in different periods,experience the positive concept and aesthetic interest of the ancient working people in the pattern,gradually build the theoretical system of bird pattern,and provide guidance for the innovative design of pattern.Finally,the development status of bird pattern in today's society is investigated,and the feasibility of its inheritance and innovation is analyzed.Based on this,it performs some innovation design.In a word,the study of bird patterns in Chinese clothing can deeply explore the national emotion,folk psychology and aesthetic taste precipitated in the artistic creation of our country,so that we can better understand the beauty of traditional art,inherit and innovate our traditional culture,and provide inspiration for modern textile design.It is hoped that the research results can provide some inspiration to various design fields in China and promote the vitality and vigor of our excellent traditional culture.
