| With the continuous progress of the new curriculum reform and the core literacy requirements for the development of English subjects,educators are paying more and more attention to the development of students’ own qualities.Thinking quality is an indispensable goal in core literacy of English subjects.In addition to language knowledge and skills,paying attention to students’ thinking development has gradually become an important task in teaching.Language and thinking are inseparable.As a linguistic discipline,the English discipline also undertakes the task of cultivating the development of student’s thinking ability.The junior high school stage is a critical period for students’ thinking development.Reading teaching is one of the important teaching types of English courses.It is necessary to cultivate students’ thinking ability in reading teaching,and schema theory is important in reading teaching.The theory,through the application of schema theory in reading teaching to cultivate students’ thinking ability,is an important part of this study.First,this research discusses the relationship between schema theory and the cultivation of thinking ability.Then,this research collects real reading teaching lessons,uses the heterogeneity of the same class to analyze how teachers use schema theory and develop students’ thinking skills through the classroom teaching observations and interviews of junior middle school English teachers in G middle school in Haikou.The findings show that teachers can develop students’ observation and discovery abilities,comparison and analysis abilities,logical thinking abilities,concept construction abilities,information memory and transformation,and critical thinking abilities in reading teaching.However,teachers have insufficient knowledge of schema theory and thinking ability,and their application of schema theory is not comprehensive enough,the teaching design to cultivate thinking ability also needs to be improved.In view of the current problems,this research concludes a framework for teaching design which based on schema theory to develop students’ thinking ability.Based on this,a junior middle school reading teaching case is designed. |
