Modal adverbs,as a special kind of adverbs in modern Chinese, play an important role in communicative expression. It is a difficult point for Chinese learners.Taking probabilistic modal adverbs as the research content, this paper analyzes the errors of probabilistic modal adverbs acquired by Chinese learners and the reasons by means of quantitative analysis such as cross analysis and correspondence analysis. This paper is divided into five chapters, the main content is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction.Firstly, this paper expounds the reason and significance of topic selection, then summarizes the related researches on probabilistic modal adverbs, and finally introduces the research objects and methods of this paper. In the second chapter, the situation of probabilistic modal adverbs in modern Chinese is investigated and analyzed from three aspects of semantics, syntax and pragmatics.Chapter three analyzes the probabilistic modal adverbs acquired by Chinese learners.A questionnaire is designed based on the mixing points of probabilistic modal adverbs.A cross analysis of the questionnaire results shows that when Chinese learners acquire probable modal adverbs, the highest error rate is syntactic omission, followed by semantic misuse, and the lower error rate is redundancy and wrong order. The fourth chapter, based on the results of the questionnaire survey, adopts correspondence analysis to analyze the reasons for learners’ errors from the aspects of language itself and external conditions.Among them, mother tongue and target language are the main reasons.Chapter five, based on the ontological investigation, the acquisition situation and the causes of errors, puts forward some Suggestions from the two aspects of teacher teaching and student learning.
