“western theme fantasia”has enjoyed great popularity since its publication in 2012,a track frequently played or assigned in professional Guzheng competition,which takes a model role with western regions music style as a modern composition.This article takes “western theme fantasia”played by the author in the concert as the research object,and discusses the performance interpretation of "western theme fantasia" from three aspects: the fixed string,the musical form structure,the rhythm and beat,the texture structure,the characteristics of musical tone with cavity and the music image.It also explores the unique western music artistic style of this work in depth,and discusses the performance interpretation of“western theme fantasia”from three aspects: the blending of guzheng and piano techniques,the strength change under the texture structure characteristics,and the rhythm of body dance breath.Finally,it summarizes the author’s thinking on the creation and performance of contemporary guzheng art works extended when studying and playing this work,which is a contemporary guzheng work.
