Maurice ravel is one of the representative figures of French impressionist music.His works occupy an extremely important position in the history of music.The play of water is the peak work of ravel’s early impressionism,which is regarded as a sign of ravel’s mature creation,and has been deeply loved by music lovers since its publication.This work was created by ravel for the first time with new technical techniques and was also the origin of various innovations in his later works.The fantastic sound effects,the traditional and innovative musical structure and the difficult performance techniques in the work became a masterpiece of the impressionist period.Through superb composition skills and difficult performance skills,the work vividly depicts various forms of water in the play.The new creation concept and creation skills show ravel’s plasticity and uniqueness.Ravel pays attention to the depiction of realistic things,which not only has the pattern of traditional music,but also contains new colors,forming a unique musical style.Ravel’s creation not only endowed classical and romantic music with new power,but also opened up a new way for impressionist style music and promoted the development of modern music.This paper is divided into three chapters to analyze the works,the first chapter combs the author’s life and the background of the works.The second chapter analyzes the form structure and harmony of the work.The third chapter embarks from the playing skills,combined with their own learning and playing experience,with works by the force of the processing,rhythm and tone,the use of the pedal,etc as the key to the analysis,in-depth study work hard skills,strive for accurate expression of the works of the authors intention and music style,provide valuable reference for research and performer.
