English,as a second language teaching,the four basic skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing are very important,and English writing is one of them.But for many years,the teaching of English writing has been constantly changing and developing.Back in 2000,the British R? Badger and G? White proposed a teaching method that combined process and genre methods to form a process genre teaching method.Chinese scholar Han Jinlong first mentioned this concept in his published article English Writing Teaching: Process Genre Teaching Method in 2001.Through literature review,the author finds that many scholars have applied the process genre method to English writing teaching in senior high schools and achieved remarkable results.But in rural high school English writing teaching,the application of process genre teaching method is rare,so this article will discuss and analyze the application of process genre teaching method in rural high school English writing teaching.This article adopts the method of contrastive teaching to analyze the effect of the process genre in the teaching of English writing in rural high schools.Through comparative teaching of the second and fifth grades of senior high school in the author 's school,class 5 uses the process genre method,while class 6 does not use the process genre method.After twelve weeks of teaching,take a writing test.Explain the situation by comparing the pre-test results and post-test results.At the same time,through questionnaires and interviews to obtain more information from teachers and students,and strive to obtain the most objective and practical data for related analysis and research.The experimental data were analyzed by statistical analysis software SPSS20.0.Judging from the results,the class of applying the process genre method has improved a lot in English writing.Rural high school English writing teaching has both advantages and disadvantages in the implementation of the genre teaching method.The advantage is that it can improve students' genre awareness,help students expand their thinking,accumulate rich language materials,improve English writing ability,and improve English writing performance.And it can increase students' interest in learning English writing andimprove their learning initiative.However,there are some shortcomings in the actual application process.It is necessary to consider the advantages of the process method and the genre method,teaching takes a long time;and subject to the pressure of the college entrance examination,the teaching is also challenged by the pressure of the test,and so on.According to the results of this comparative teaching,flexible adjustments should be made in accordance with the actual situation when applying the process teaching method.And the following suggestions are put forward for the application of process genre method: first,the input of knowledge and information before writing should be emphasized;second,the analysis of genre genre should be strengthened;third,the feedback of results should be emphasized.
