The Process Genre Method is a new teaching method that combines the advantages of the Process Method and the Genre Method.It not only focuses on the process of writing and language knowledge,but also analyzes genre requirements and textual structures so that students can fully play their main roles and improve their ability of autonomic learning.The New Curriculum Reform requires students to write written expressions of different genres.Written expressions account for about 17 % of the total score.Therefore,it is particularly important for high school students to improve their written ability,but at the same time,it is also very difficult.Consequently,this study decides to apply the Process Genre Method to the actual writing teaching,and analyzes its obvious advantages in changing the writing attitudes of students and improving their writing levels.On the basis of reviewing the literature related to the method,this paper uses the empirical research method to study the effects on high school students’ writing levels using the Process Genre Method.There are mainly two problems in the research to be solved:1)How does the Process Genre Approach positively affect students’ writing attitudes?2)What is the positve effect of the Process Genre Approach on students’ writing levels?The study selected 104 students to participate in the experiment,and carried out the research by means of tests,interviews,questionnaires,and experimental comparison between traditional Product Method and the Process Genre Method.The research shows that:(1)There are two influences of the Process Genre Method on students’ writing attitudes.One is interest.The other is motivation.Both can be strengthened.(2)There are two influences of the Process Genre Method on students’ writing levels.One is the writing layout.The other is using words and expressions.Both have also been enhanced.The implications of the study are as follows: After empirical study,the conclusion is that the Process Genre Approach should be widely used in English writing of senior high schools,which can effectively guide senior high school students about English writing.Not only can it change students’ negative attitudes towards writing,but also improve their English writing levels.
