Writing is a high-level task in English teaching.In the teaching process of senior high school English,it is both independent and distinctively comprehensive.It can effectively reflect the students' overall control of vocabulary,grammar,and discourse organization.Therefore,it proposes a higher level of student pragmatics.More specific requirements,writing has become a major problem in English learning for high school students.Therefore,it is particularly important to explore an effective English teaching mode that can improve students' English writing ability.For learners,the main problem in writing is how to use authentic language and accurate expression to reduce the impact of mother tongue on English expression,so that the article is more coherent and authentic.In this regard,the author believes that the key to solve this problem is the lexical chunks.The application of Lexical Approach in writing may solve these problems to some extent.Lexical chunks is a combination of vocabulary and grammar that exists in a large number of natural languages.It has a certain structure and can express a certain meaning;it is memorized and stored as a whole,and it is extracted as a whole when needed for communication.As a fixed or semi-fixed word string,lexical chunks not only solve the problem of memorization during language input,but also the problem of extraction during language output shorten the process of language processing,and effectively reduce learners' word-by-word sentence according to speechless thinking.Vocabulary selection,grammatical rules,and collocation problems that may be brought about during translation will greatly help the accuracy,fluency of the language expression,and reduce the negative transfer of the mother tongue.Therefore,the author takes lexical chunks as the starting point,and after a semester of lexical chunks experiments,aims to explore the effectiveness of Lexical Approach in English writing teaching.This paper aims to address the following three questions:1.How does the application of Lexical Approach to English writing affect high school students' English writing attitude?2.Can the Lexical Approach increase the frequency of high school students' lexical chunks after it is applied to English writing?3.Can the Lexical Approach improve English writing scores of high school students after being applied to English writing?In order to solve the above three research problems,the author conducts teaching research in Yan'an Shiyan Middle School.The entire research process of this experiment began in September 2019 and ended in January 2020,which took 4 months.At the beginning of the teaching research,the authors performed writing tests on students from seven parallel classes in the first grade of Yan'an Shiyan Middle School.The test results show that the writing skills of the first and second class students are similar.Therefore,the author selects the first and second class students as the research objects and randomly assigns one class as the experimental class and the second class as the control class.There are 45 students per class,for a total of 90 students.During the implementation of the experiment,the experimental class selected by the author mainly uses the Lexical Approach for writing teaching,while the control class still uses the previous writing teaching mode for teaching.This experiment mainly uses empirical research methods,using questionnaire surveys and tests as research tools,and through teaching experiments and analysis of test participants' written texts,to obtain reliable experimental data to ensure the credibility of experimental results.All the research participants in this experiment participated in the pre-test and post-test,and the same writing scoring standard will be used in both writing tests to reduce its instability.The experimental results show that after the teaching of the lexical chunks in the experimental class,the students are satisfied with the teaching mode,the use of lexicalchunks in writing texts has increased significantly,and English writing scores have improved significantly.
