A Study On The View Of Ying Ruocheng's C-E Translation Of The Drama

As an important form of literature and art,drama has been continuously translated and disseminated throughout the world,and drama translation activities also have become an important means of cultural exchange between countries.However,the study of drama translation has always been at the edge of literary translation research.The relevant theories are deficient,and the problems discussed are also outdated.This thesis combines the study of translator and the study of drama translation,and takes Ying Ruocheng and his C-E translations as the study object.It aims to summarize Ying Ruocheng's view on C-E translation of the drama through the interpretation of the translator's life experience,the appreciation of the drama translation and the exploration of the translation proper arrangements or presentations,so as to enriches and develops theoretical research on drama translation,and provides a reference for the external communication and exchange of Chinese literature.This thesis has five chapters.The first chapter introduces the purposes and significances of the study,the methods and innovations of the study,and the structure of the thesis.The second chapter is the personal study of Ying Ruocheng from his life experience and the review of his drama translation studies.The third chapter takes Ying Ruocheng's C-E translations of the drama as the study object.Through the appreciation of his drama translations,it concludes that his C-E translations of the drama has two characteristics:performability and readability.The fourth chapter combines the translator's life experience and his C-E drama translations,trying to explore the proper arrangements or presentations of Ying Ruocheng's C-E translation of the drama from five aspects:translation choice,translation cognition,translation ideal,translation principle and translation strategy.The fifth chapter is the induction and summary of the study contents of the second,third and fourth chapters.From the translator's interpretation,translation appreciation and proper arrangement analysis to the level of translator's study,translation practice study and translation theory study,thus an overall view of Ying Ruocheng's C-E translation of the drama has been constructed,then the contributions that Ying Ruocheng had made to drama translation have been affirmed,and the deficiencies of this thesis as well as the prospects for future study have also been pointed out.
