The Study Of Giorgio Morandi’s Still Life And Its Inspiration To My Creation

Lu Xun once said that what the painter painted and what the sculptor sculpted "on the surface is a picture and a statue,in fact it is the expression of his thoughts and personality".The image of any artistic work is concrete and emotional,and also reflects certain thoughts and feelings.It is the organic unity of objective factors and subjective factors.In painting works of art,the expression of painting language is indispensable to convey the artist’s spiritual connotation.Giorgio Morandi is an outstanding painter with world influence in the history of Modern Italian painting in the 20th century.His still life painting,with its simple painting theme and unique viewing angle,shows the most real and essential side of things.In this paper,through in-derth study of the painting language in Morandi’s mature still life painting works,to explore the corresponding relationship between the painting language and spiritual expression in his works.The article is divided into four parts.The first part discusses the formation of Morandi’s painting style from the internal character and external environment factors;The second part,from the perspective of composition,shape,color,shadow and space,analyzes the expression of the abstract spiritual concept of"reality" in Morandi’s mature still life painting.The third part,explores the spiritual connotation of painting behind the formal language of Morandi’s painting.The Fourth part,guided by the analysis of the corresponding relationship between Morandi’s painting language and its abstract spiritual expression,combined with my own way of viewing,expounds my understanding of the abstract spiritual concept of "reality"and the spiritual pursuit to be conveyed in my pictures.
