Collecting literature on second language reading teaching from CNKI and WOS data platforms respectively,this paper uses an internationally recognized authoritative visual analytical tool,Cite Space,to conduct knowledge map analysis in order to explore the overall situation of second language reading teaching at home and abroad,understand its research hotspots and frontiers thoroughly and provide references for the research on English reading teaching in China.It is found that there are six hot spots in domestic English research: research on reading theory and reading mode for the purpose of cultivating reading ability;research on reading methods and strategies for improving reading level;research on teaching contents and teaching methods aimed at improving students' language ability;research on reading evaluation and test for the purpose of checking reading efficiency;study on independent reading learning aiming at meeting students' individual needs;research on English teaching reform based on educational informatization.There are five research hotspots in foreign countries: student-oriented research on students' comprehension,ability and behavior;research on teaching contents with the core of phonology,vocabulary and graphic text;dynamic evaluation research;research on academic teaching purpose;a study of context in the context of multiple social cultures.There are three research frontiers in China: research on improving reading speed through discourse analysis;student-centered autonomous learning research;research on the new teaching model of flipped classroom.There are three research frontiers in foreign countries: research on second language learners' learning behavior;research on strategies and methods to improve teaching effect;dynamic evaluation of learner's second language acquisition.To realize efficient English reading teaching in China,it is necessary to deepen teaching theory research based on the domestic situation;focus on the frontier and strengthen the research of hot topics;conduct research on optimizing evaluation system based on scale and highlight the value of life research based on advocating technology.
