| Workplace phubbing is a research topic which has attracted much attention from academia in recent years.Boss phubbing,in short,which is best understood as an employee’s perception that his or her supervisor is distracted by his or her smartphone when they are talking or in close proximity to each other.With the development and popularity of smart phones,the phenomenon of leading mobile phone snub behavior is more and more common.For subordinates,leaders are the spokesperson of the organization.They are people who have the most contact with employees except colleagues.The relationship with leaders will have a great impact on subordinates’ careers.As a kind of workplace exclusion from leader,Boss phubbing negatively affect employees’mental and physical health and work behavior.Therefore,the research and development on Boss phubbing has important political and economic significance.In this study,360 employees of enterprises and public institutions were surveyed by questionnaire once a week for 3 consecutive weeks,and 240 valid questionnaires were finally collected.Based on the social exchange theory,this research explores the relationship between boss phubbing and employee silence behavior as well as that between boss phubbing and work stress,and examines the mechanism of psychological safety,relational uncertainty and negative attribution in this process.Through analysis and research,the conclusions including:(1)Boss phubbing is positively with employee silence.(2)Boss phubbing have a negative impact on the psychological safety of subordinate and a positive impact on the relational uncertainty.(3)Both the psychological safety and the relational uncertainty have mediation effect between boss phubbing and employee silence behavior.(4)Boss phubbing is positively with work stress.(5)The relationship between boss phubbing and work stress behavior is partially mediated by relational uncertainty.(6)Employee’s negative attribution positively moderates the relationship between boss phubbing and psychological safety,relational uncertainty respectively.(7)Negative attribution positively moderates the indirect relationship between boss phubbing and employee silence.The research results provide a new path for the follow-up study of boss phubbing,and opens new research points for the research field of phubbing.Finally,based on the conclusions and management practice,this paper puts forward suggestions for further research. |
