"Writing",as one of the four language skills of "listening,speaking,reading and writing",has always been a difficulty in teaching.At present,the development of listening,speaking,reading and writing abilities of Chinese learners at the primary and intermediate level of the second language is unbalanced,which is related to the fact that the written expression training is not up to the standard.In the process from writing Chinese characters to being able to write,learners need to carry out written expression training to strengthen their comprehensive ability of using language.Therefore,writing teaching should play an important role in Chinese teaching.This paper is divided into five parts,The introduction part introduces the reason,significance,purpose,research summary and the source of the corpus.The first chapter introduces the error analysis,classifies the errors in terms of words,grammar,discourse and other four aspects,and investigates the types of errors in the writing of American students at the primary and intermediate levels.The second chapter analyzes the causes of the errors from two aspects:the theory of second language acquisition and teaching.It finds that the main causes of the errors are the influence of the individual factors of learners,teachers' teaching and textbooks.The individual factors of learners are:the negative transfer of mother tongue,the generalization of target language,the avoidance principle and the simplification principle of students.The third chapter introduces the writing teaching of American students coming to China from three aspects:Students'situation,teaching mode and teaching materials.It observes the changes of American students' writing ability before and after teaching from two aspects:Students' writing performance in class and the changes of errors in writing practice.In the fourth chapter,according to the causes of students' errors and the teaching results,the author designs the classroom links of writing training,and puts forward the suggestions of reducing errors and improving students' writing ability from the two aspects of improving classroom teaching and paying attention to the teaching of errors.
