The 2018 Report of the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate is an annual report of the United Nations.The Report points out the benefits of a clean and climate friendly growth mode have long been underestimated.The translator chooses the first section ―energy‖ of the Report to translate and write a translation practice report.It is hoped that the translation version can help to spread the concept of new climate economy and a clean and friendly economic development mode more widely,and to enhance public awareness of energy conservation and energy transformation.Guided by Nida‘s functional equivalence theory,this translation practice is completed with the help of computer-aided translation tools such as ABBYY and Trados.The Report comprises the following five parts: introduction,task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.In the introduction part,the translator introduces the background and significance of the report.In the task description part,the translator introduces features of the source text and target readers.In the process description part,the translator introduces three aspects: preparation for pre-translation,translation process and post translation quality assurance.In the case analysis part,the translator makes a detailed analysis of the translation of proper nouns,nominalized expressions,passive sentences,long sentences,conjunction and reference from lexical level,syntactic level and textual level respectively;at the same time,the translator discusses translation methods and translation techniques such as literal translation,free translation,omission,conversion,back translation,the use of established names through long social practice,linear order translation,reversed order translation and comprehensive translation.Through the translation practice and report writing,the translator gains a deeper understanding of the new economic development mode,sorts out main problems in report translation to a certain extent and adopts appropriate translation methods.However,given the wide range of areas involved in the new climate economy,the translator needs to further learn and explore the new climate econo my;in addition,the translator‘s use of translation methods also needs to be further improved.
