The mental health of adolescents is closely related to their family environment, especially the influence of parents.Parents are important to teenagers. If the relationship between parents is harmonious, teenagers will become healthier mentally and experience more subjective well-being.According to the cognitive-situation theory, marital conflict has a significantly negative effects on adolescents’ well-being.In addition to affecting adolescents’ well-being directly, parental marital conflict also affects adolescents’subjective well-being through other factors.Based on the the theory of emotional security hypothesis and attachment theory, this study explores how emotional security and parent-child attachment play a role in the impact of parental marital conflict on adolescents’ well-being,and tries to test the sequential mediation model of emotional security and parent-child attachment. An intervention study will be conducted to improve the subjective well-being of adolescents by intervening in the way that parental marital conflicts affect their subjective well-being.In this study,936 middle school students(Mage = 14.4,SD=1.37)were randomly sampled with Parent Marriage Conflict Scale,Life Satisfaction Scale,Emotional Balance Scale,Emotional Safety Scale and Parent-Child Attachment Scale. The results showed that:(1)Parent-child attachment and subjective well-being are negatively correlated with parental conflict, but positively correlated with emotional unsafety;parental attachment is positively correlated with subjective well-being;emotional unsafety is negatively correlated with subjective well-being.(2)Parent-child attachment and emotional security act as a sequential mediation between the impact of parental marital conflict on subjective well-being.Specifically,parental marital conflict has indirect effects on subjective well-being through three indirect paths:through the mediating role of parent-child attachment;through the mediating role of emotional security;and affecting children’s subjective well-being through affecting parent-child attachment and emotional security in turn.(3)The results of intervention study showed that the intervention in adolescents whose parents are in conflict can effectively improve their subjective well-being.In theory, this study enriches the path of parental marital conflict affecting adolescents’ well-being;in practice, intervention programs in intervention study have important reference value for improving adolescents’ well-being.
