The cento poetry began in the Western Jin Dynasty,developed through the Song,Yuan,and Ming Dynasties,and entered a period of prosperity in the Qing Dynasty.The number of cento poems in the Qing Dynasty was large,which not only inherited many advantages of the previous cento poems,but also showed many innovations,so it can be used as an example of the study of cento poems.This article mainly adopts methods of sampling comparison and qualitative research,taking cento poetry in Qing Dynasty as an example to study the function of cento poetry and its historical significance to the acceptance of previous poetry.This article will select the cento poetry in the three periods of early Qing,mid Qing,and late Qing:Cha Shenxing,Tian Congdian,Gu Tuhe,Xu Zhouren in the early period,Jiang Fang,Dai Wendeng,Wang Peilan,Qian Daxin in the middle period,Xu Zhaofeng,Gong Erduo,Yi Xuan,Bao Ting in the late period.The cento works in their collection will be the subject of study.The article main doubts most people think that the main function of the set of cento poems is to use language games to play the author's point of view,and to study the actual reading problems reflected in the set of cento poems.The main text is divided into three parts.The first part mainly looks at the function of cento poetry from the content of cento poetry in Qing Dynasty.Analyze the relationship between the collection of poems and the background of the times from two aspects:subject preference and creation environment At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty,the regime had just been established and the situation was still unstable.After the brutal war in the late Ming Dynasty,the society and culture were still recovering.Therefore,most of the sample cento poems at this time were closely connected with reality and mainly expressed as a serious attitude,less the color of laughter appears.The mid-Qing Dynasty entered the heyday,when the political stability and cultural prosperity at that time,the literati's living conditions were better,the creation of verse poems was more prosperous.In the sample cento poems,leisure poems were dominant,there were few realistic works and lack of personality.Qing in the later period of the country was in internal and external troubles,the Qing Dynasty has gradually declined,and the crisis of survival has emerged.At this time,the relationship between the sample cento poetry and reality has become closer,the number of essay creations at the time of political decline has increased.Judging from the situation reflected in the sample,the common view that the cento poems are mainly literary games seems to be untenable.The relationship between cento poems and real life is no different from other poems,and it has the function of expressing social life.It is not just a word game in the study,as some people think.The second part mainly looks at the function of cento poetry from the text of cento poetry in Qing Dynasty.Based on the theory of cento poetry in the poetry theory of the past dynasties,the general development process of the theory of cento poetry was sorted out.In the Northern Song Dynasty,the cento poetry was mostly attributed to laughter for entertainment From the Southern Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,critics began to pay attention to the literary nature of cento poetry.Based on the content and art of the specific poems,the thesis analyzes the two functions of the sentiment and sentiment of the collection of poems and the study of entertainment,and thinks that these two functions are not substantially different from ordinary poems.The third part explores the acceptance of verses in the Qing Dynasty to the previous generations.It mainly studies the acceptance of poetry in cento poetry from three aspects:the reading preference of Qing people's poetry,the profile of the poets being collected,the different acceptance history reflected in the collection of cento poetry and the Tang Dynasty poetry.After counting the times of the cento poets in the sample cento poems,we found that the Qing people have great respect for Tang poetry.There is also a basic consensus among the most important writers of the Tang Dynasty.However,for the less important writers,there is a clear difference between the sample cento poems and Tang poetry anthology.The sample cento poems pay more attention to secondary writers,this may reflect a general law.The author speculates that the reason for the discrepancy is that there are certain standards for the selected Tang poetry in the Qing Dynasty.The writers considered the balance of poets,themes,and poetic styles in the compilation.While promoting the concept of poetics,they tried to show the style of the Tang poetry more comprehensively.Sentence writers have no worries in this regard,and they can choose familiar poems for sentence collection based on their preferences and the content they write This reflects the divergence between the history of literary criticism and the history of actual acceptance.
