In the era of big data and globalization, the requirement for translation is rapidly increasing, and the task of translators is becoming increasingly burdensome. The traditional translation method shows some shortcomings such as high cost and low translation efficiency. In this case, the emergence of computer aided translation technology provides great convenience for translation work.Computer aided translation(CAT)is a translation strategy in which a translator uses a computer program to help the translator complete part of the translation work.To a certain extent,it can effectively assist the translator to finish the translation task more efficiently and easily.Computer aided translation stems from machine translation, but it is different from the previous machine translation software. It does not rely upon the automatic translation of computer, but completes the whole translation process with the participation of human beings. The main body of computer aided translation process is the translator, which also avoids many drawbacks in machine translation.Compared with the traditional manual translation process, computer aided translation has the same or higher translation quality and better translation efficiency to some extent. With the assistance of computer aided translation technology, human translators become the implementers of translation activities and the operators of translation software. The translator will actively select translation tasks, decide translation strategies and translation purposes, use the Internet to search for information, utilize and build terminology and memory bases, understand and edit translation texts. Therefore, the translator increasingly relies on computer assistance,at the same time, the translator's subjectivity is also improving.Computer aided translation(CAT)can help the translator accomplish repetitive work by virtue of powerful translation memory, but it can not fully realize automatic translation, and the translator still plays the main role in the process of translation. In the process of completing translation work with the help of computer aided translation technology, translators need to make full use of translator's subjectivity in the pre-translation preparation, translation process and post-translation editing stage so as to make the technology provide better help for translation. This thesis aims to sort out the development of computer aided translation both at home and abroad, and to make some research on the exertion of translator's subjectivity in the process of computer aided translation,so as to play a guiding role and provide some help for translators in the process of using computer aided translation software. This thesis is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction which introduces the basic situation of computer aided translation and translator's subjectivity, and expounds the purpose and significance of this study. The second chapter is a literature review, which combs the research background of translator's subjectivity and computer aided translation and the research situation at home and abroad. The third chapter deals with the concept, history and development of translator's subjectivity. The fourth chapter explores the basic concepts of CAT and the advantages and limitations of CAT.The fifth chapter focuses on the analysis of the translator's subjectivity in the process of computer aided translation. The sixth chapter makes the conclusion of the thesis, which summarizes the whole thesis and points out the shortcomings and future research directions.
