The National English Curriculum(2011)takes emotion-attitude objective as one of the five major objectives.It explicitly requires English teaching in junior high school to stress not only language but also the cultivation of students' interest,self-confidence,willpower,communication,cooperation,motherland awareness and international vision,so as to promote people's all-round development.Thus,the study on the current situation of its implementation in junior high school English teaching will help to find out the existing problems in time and improve it.Based on the theory of Humanism,Taxonomy of Educational Objective and Affective Filter Hypothesis,this study makes classroom observations of English teaching in a junior high school,and questionnaires for 43 English teachers and 201 students,interviews with 6 English teachers.Through statistical analysis of the data,this thesis aims to investigate teachers' beliefs in emotion-attitude objective and how they implement,the effect of implementation on students and factors that affect it.Combined with the results of classroom observations,questionnaires and interviews,this study discovers that English teachers approve of emotion-attitude objective and design it in teaching plans;some teachers can implement it.However,we find that teachers pay less attention to emotion-attitude than on others and fail to explore or integrate its elements in textbooks.For the aspect of implementation effect,students agree with the effect of willpower,motherland awareness and international vision,while there is deficiency in interest,motivation,self-confidence,willingness to communicate in English and cooperate.The factors that affect its implementation are teachers' attitude and abilities,and pressures from school,parents and exams.This thesis analyzes the implementation of emotion-attitude objective and its influencing factors in junior high school English teaching.It tries to put forward corresponding suggestions,hoping to be helpful for the implementation of emotion-attitude objective in junior high school English teaching.
