With the development of society, explicit gender bias continues to exist in life in a subtle and implicit form.As a mild form of gender bias, benevolent sexism manipulates women by giving them a "warm" feeling on the surface, constrains them into stereotypical gender roles, and limits the possibility of diverse development of womenIn order to explore the influence of benevolent sexism on females’ reaction when they are hindered by the opposite sex and the possible moderating factors in this process,a total of 835 young female college students(mean age=23.1)were selected as the main subjects in this study. This study used the Benevolent Sexism Inventory(BSI),the Quality of Relationship Index(QRI)and Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory(ECR)to test positive emotional responses to restrictions of the opposite sex in situations in which men prevented women from driving.Study I screened 340 female subjects(mean age=22.2)and explored the effect of benevolent sexism on the perception of "caring" restriction and the moderating effect of reason orientation(individual/group);On the basis of study 1,study 2 screened 345 female subjects(mean age=23.5)and explored the effect of benevolent sexism on the perception of "individual"、"caring" restriction and studied the moderating effect of relationship type(lover/classmate)on the relationship between benevolent sexism and the perception of restriction;Based on the results of the previous two studies, the perspective of study 3 is further focused,it screened 150 female subjects(mean age=23.3)and studied the moderating effects of intimacy satisfaction(high/low)and attachment(anxiety and avoidance)(high/low)on the relationship between benevolent sexism and the perception of restrictionThe results showed:(1)Benevolent sexism has a significant impact on the positive emotional response of"caring" restriction and the orientation of reason has a significant moderating effect(p=0.001<0.01),the effect is significant in the individual group(p=0.000<0.01)and is not significant in group(p>0.05);(2)Benevolent sexism has a significant impact on the positive emotional response of"individual"、"caring" restriction and the relationship type has a slight significant moderating effect(p=0.058),the effect is significant in lovers(p=0.007<0.05)and classmates(p=0.007<0.05);(3)In intimate relationships, benevolent sexism has a significant impact on the positive emotional response of "individual"、"caring" restriction and attachment anxiety has a significant moderating effect(p=0.02<0.05),the effect is significant in the high-anxiety group(p=0.000<0.01)and is not significant in the low-anxiety group(p>0.05),while intimacy satisfaction and attachment avoidance have no significant moderating effect. Conclusions:facing caring restriction, the orientation of reason can regulate the influence of benevolent sexism on emotional response, when pointing at individual reasons, benevolent sexism plays a greater role;facing individual caring restriction, the relationship type can regulate the influence of benevolent sexism on emotional response,in romantic relationship, benevolent sexism plays a greater role;facing individual caring restriction proposed by lovers, attachment anxiety can regulate the influence of benevolent sexism on emotional response,in high attachment anxiety, benevolent sexism plays a greater role, while attachment avoidance and relationship satisfaction have no moderating effect.
