The strong desire to seek and establish intimate relationships has remained unchanged in people's minds. The process of seeking and establishing satisfies our basic needs for affiliation. To adapt to the changing external environment and the needs of interpersonal communication, individuals need to monitor and adjust the inner psychological processes and external behaviors of emotions.According to the internal working model in the attachment theory, individuals with different types of attachment adopt different strategies under stressful or dangerous situation. There are two strategies: the primary attachment strategy, and the non-secure secondary attachment strategy.Pressure will automatically activate the attachment system. All individuals will adopt the basic primary attachment strategy regardless of attachment orientation, like seeking behavior. If they cannot obtain attachment security, they will adopt secondary attachment strategy, such as anxiety attachment individual deactivation strategies by using over-activated attachment strategies and avoidant attachment individuals. At present, there are many researches on different aspects of individual cognition in the field of attachment, but mainly focusing on the differences between theoretical research and behavioral theory, and the lack of characteristics in cognition of intimate relationship-related stimuli when using two different types of attachment types. The differences,in the effectiveness of regulating emotions and time-course changes, have shown some contradictions between the findings of attachment type and cognition, and the hypothesis of secondary attachment strategies. Therefore, comprehensive and in-depth experiments are needed for further verifications.Experiment 1 used the learning recognition paradigm and E-Prime experimental programming software to conduct cognitive behavior experiments on 88 college students from different regions and schools. The subjects were interviewed with different valence(intimacy or conflict)intimacy-related scene pictures. The process of learning and recognizing, repeating the measurement of variance analysis on the correct rate and response time of recognition, exploring differences in the process of memory and extraction results in the cognitive processing of safe, avoidant and anxiety individuals.Secondly, using the visual search paradigm, which is the eye movement technology, performance of the attentional links in 59 intimacy-relatedscenes of different valences was captured by 59 different attachment type individuals. The task was to search for 8 random images in a random search. The intimate/conflict pictures and repeated measuring of the variance analysis of eye movement indicators closely related to visual search, such as eye-jump distance and total fixation time,so as to explore its processing characteristics and differences.Experiment 3 used picture titer judgment task,by using event-related potential technique. It collected EEGs from36 subjects of different genders and different attachment types EG information, repeatedly measured the variance analysis for the peaks and latency of early P1,N1,and N2 components induced by the titer judgment tasks of different intimate scene pictures, and explored the intimate scenes of safe, avoidant, and anxious individuals in different titers. This allows the exploration of physiological characteristics of cognitive processing under stimulation and the time course of attention bias. The three experiments used several research paradigms to explore characteristics and differences of various cognitive links(attention and memory)in the cognitive processing tasks of different gender and attachment type individuals in different intimate relationship-related scenarios. In response to this phenomenon, the study provides an explanation on intimate processing mechanism for the attachment type from the perspective of the internal working mode and its corresponding attachment strategy of Bowlby. The experimental results show that firstly, there is no significant difference in memory extraction efficiency of different attachment type subjects, but the main effect of picture titer is significant;experiment 1 found that the correct rate of judgment for conflict pictures is significant in the judgment of different valence pictures.Corresponding to the intimate picture, the response to the conflict picture is also significantly larger than the former. It can be seen that the titer of pictures can affect cognitive processing of the subject for intimacy related stimuli. In the formation of attachment-related stimuli, subjects of any type of attachment will pay more attention to the situational pictures of conflict, threat, and stress. Also, subjects tend to give more attention to resources, processing for a longer period.Secondly, gender and attachment type play a common role in regulating the intimate cognition of individuals. In the analysis of eye movement experiments and EEG experiments related to cognitive attention,it is found that in the eye movement experiment, the eyes of safe male subjects are tested and compared. The jump distance is much larger than that of safe female subjects, implying that men's search efficiency tend to behigher. In the EEG experiment, the behavioral data showed that female subjects were more likely to respond than their counterparts. In the analysis of the P1 component,P1 peaks of the female subjects were significantly larger than those of male subjects.Meanwhile,in the analysis of the N1 components,it was found that in response to intimate pictures, the peaks of safe male subjects are larger, which reflects the interaction between these two influencing factors. It can be found that male subjects respond faster, while task-induced peaks are larger. The “instrumental” role played by men also largely affects their cognitive processes and efficiency. The results of Experiment 2 and Experiment 3 further validate the hypothesis of the overactivation and deactivation strategies in the attachment strategy.
