Research On Li Huiying's Novel Creation In Hong Kong

Li Huiying' s novels written in Hong Kong are an important part of his life' s literary practice.After World War II,Hong Kong was under British colonial rule,and its ideological control was relatively loose.As long as it did not affect public safety,both the left and the right could speak out relatively freely.Under such a cultural environment,Hong Kong has absorbed the relatively diversified tradition of new literature since the May 4th Movement,and at the same time it has made Chinese traditional literature continue.On this basis,Li Huiying' s creation combined with the local characteristics of Hong Kong,and created a number of realistic novels that can adapt to the commercial social environment of Hong Kong and bear serious social responsibilities.This is Li Huiying' s important literary achievement in the second half of his life.At the same time,it is also an important harvest of Hong Kong' s new literature,and it also continues some important traditions of new literature since the May 4th Movement.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper mainly discusses the novels written by Li Huiying in Hong Kong from three aspects.The first chapter focuses on the analysis of Li Huiying' s novel creation process in Hong Kong,the novels written by Li Huiying in Hong Kong took into account both the mainland experience and the experience in Hong Kong.In the creative mentality,he gradually completed his fitting of the identity of "Hong Kong writer",at the same time,he persisted tenaciously in his realist literary creation spirit.Li Huiying has lived in Hong Kong for 40 years and has consciously contributed to the construction of localization of Hong Kong literature.The urban phases of Hong Kong he portrayed,from the construction of the city to the social atmosphere and the daily life of the citizens,all show a rich and vivid appearance.The second chapter focuses on the relationship between the novels Li Huiying created in Hong Kong and the tradition of new literature.Li Huiying was inspired by the new literary revolution in his early years.At the beginning of his creation,he was inspired by the consciousness of revolution and salvation.Naturally,it will continue to present the realistic tradition and realistic critical colors of new literature.Li Huiying' s national feelings,social consciousness,and concern for human nature and world in his fiction creation during the Hong Kong period are also related to the infiltration and nourishment of this new literature.At the same time,the cultural environment of Hong Kong,which is different from the Mainland,also prompted Li Huiying to make new extensions to some existing narratives in his creation.The third chapter discusses the characteristics of Li Huiying' s novel narrative.For Li Huiying,who has been nourished by both Chinese and Western literature,and is in a colonial cultural context in the midst of Chinese and Western cultures,he draws on the strengths of the narrative of traditional vernacular novels and blends the narrative features of Western novels organically.A sure way to ensure that his own novel creation can be widely accepted in the context of Hong Kong.Especially in the commercial environment of Hong Kong,Li Huiying needs to avoid a serious lesson of "lesson literature" and break through the siege of the best-selling book of "Hong Kong Island Talks"To take part in the autonomy of some forms of creation,so as to be able to write novels with a certain degree of acceptance,and finally be able to convey your own realistic feelings and literary feelings.As a writer who came to Hong Kong from the mainland,Li Huiying also faces three difficult problems:the most important livelihood problem,the way of literary and artistic creation and the initial inadaptation to the highly commercialized way of literary production.Li Huiying,who has always adhered to the theory of the realistic function of literature,insisted on using the realistic technique advocated by the May 4th New Literature to merge the narrative tradition of traditional Chinese vernacular novels,and at the same time borrowed the flexible narrative method of western literature to continue the literary creation spirit of "for life" since the May 4th Movement.Li Huiying tried his best to combine the spirit of realism,the traditional narrative form and the citizen' s interest inherent in Hong Kong literature.His creation overcame the restriction of these realistic situations to a certain extent.Li Huiying,like a plant in the north,drifted down to the land in the south,but still chose to take root in this unfamiliar land tenaciously,not only to grow,but also not to forget its origin,to flourish in the fertile land in the south and bear new and different fruits.As a writer who has spanned the times and different spaces,Li Huiying' s novels created in Hong Kong period are of unique significance to the extension of mainland new literature and the construction of Hong Kong literature.
