Phoenix originated in the Neolithic Age and experienced a development process of 5,000 years.The development of phoenix is closely related to traditional C hinese culture.The Ming and Qing Dynasties were a golden period of phoenix.Phoenix is widely used in ceramics.While beautifying porcelain,it also reflects people’s thinking,consciousness and taste in different eras.Porcelain in the Ming and Q ing Dynasties were rich in shapes,exquisite patterns,and highly recognized by the world.The rise of Ming and Qing colored porcelain provided a new form for the development of phoenix.This thesis mainly makes a comparative study on the decoration of the Phoenix pattern in Ming and Q ing dynasties from four aspects.First of all,the cultural connotation of phoenix was introduced.In the primitive period,phoenix has two meanings.O ne is the symbol of some tribe.It has a symbolic character and is used to distinguish different tribes.The second is the tribe’s thought of giving God to,phoenix which has connotative meaning and is the protector of the tribe.The original purpose of Feng was that the utilitarian value was higher than the aesthetic value.With the continuous progress of technology,people’s lives have gradually improved.The utility and aesthetics of phoenix are blended with each other,but people are more and more focused on aesthetics.Secondly,from the pictures collected to analyze the respective characteristics of Ming and Qing porcelain,the new heights of Ming and Q ing porcelain making technology,a lot of new porcelain making techniques appeared,and the progress of process technology has promoted the reform of phoenix decoration.In particular,the development of colored porcelain,such as multicolored porcelain,blue and white porcelain,pastel,red,glazed red,enamel,and plain three-color,etc.,the appearance of these new porcelains has made the decorative pattern of the Phoenix pattern more diverse.During the Ming and Q ing dynasties,the imperial kiln had a certain influence on the development of the phoe nix pattern.The fusion of C hinese and Western cultures also brought about changes in the form of the phoenix pattern.Secondly,the comparison of phoenix decoration in the Ming and Q ing dynasties was made from the comparison of form characteristics,symbo lic meaning and cultural connotation.Finally,according to the characteristics of the Phoenix pattern decoration in the Ming and Q ing dynasties,it inspired the modern Phoenix pattern decoration and thought about how we should continue to inherit and deve lop the traditional Phoenix pattern. |
