A Study On Word Formation In Taigu Dialect Of Shanxi Province

Taigu is located in the Jinzhong Basin in central Shanxi Province.Taigu dialect belongs to the Bingzhou dialect of the Jin language.At present,the research on Taigu dialect,especially word formation,is not deep enough and comprehensive enough.Based on the "Table of Chinese Dialect Words Investigation Entries",this paper uses the field investigation method to investigate the usage of the words in the table of entries in Taigu dialect in order to conduct a comprehensive investigation and description of the word formation of Taigu dialect.This paper mainly describes the characteristics of Taigu dialect word formation in detail as far as possible from four aspects: word root word formation,affix word formation,phonetic word formation and the comparison between Taigu dialect word formation and Mandarin word formation.The first is the analysis of Taigu dialect root word formation.This paper mainly studies the word formation characteristics of Taigu dialect from three aspects: word root formation,different word root formation and the same word root(overlapping)formation.The second is the analysis of affix word formation in Taigu dialect.Through the study of the affix-added word-formation in Taigu dialect,which has the most regional characteristics,the abundant affixes in Taigu dialect and their usage are understood.Thirdly,the study of phonetic word formation in Taigu dialect.Through the analysis of the consonant,vowel and suffixation in Taigu dialect,we know that Taigu dialect is rich in consonant and suffixation words.Finally,the comparison between Taigu dialect word formation and Mandarin word formation is made.Mainly from the root word-building,affix word-building and voice word-building three aspects of comparison.By comparing the word-formation of Taigu dialect with that of Mandarin,the similarities and differences in word-formation between the two are understood,and the characteristics of Taigu dialect in word-formation are highlighted.Through the above research on Taigu dialect word formation,we can see that there are many similarities between Taigu dialect word formation and mandarin word formation,such as the same word root formation and different word root formation.However,Taigu dialect also has its own characteristics,such as special affixes and rich overlapping forms.This paper tries to reflect the whole picture of Taigu dialect word formation and supplement the research of Taigu dialect so as to make the research of Taigu dialect system more comprehensive and in-depth.
