The Kangxi Dynasty(1661-1722)was an important period of the Qing Dynasty.During this period,Kangxi put down the rebellion, raised by Wu sangui, unified Taiwan, resisted foreign aggression, signed the "Treaty of Nerchinsk Between Qing government and Russia",conquered the Mongolia from the North Desert, harnessed the Yellow River floods, built water conservancy project, cultivated culture, and spread education. At the same time, the Qing Dynasty is gradually entering a period of stability and prosperity. However, during the same period of the Joseon Dynasty, due to the influence of the concept of Huayi and the tragic memories of the two wars with the Later Jin,the Joseon Dynasty's social collective imagination of the Manchu and even the entire Qing Dynasty was negative. Some Joseon Dynasty envoys who went to the Qing Dynasty were affected by this, wrote some negative images of China in their journals. However,as the Manchu's ruling gradually entered stability and adopted policy of conciliation toward the Joseon Dynasty, the Joseon Dynasty envoys' thinking of the Qing Dynasty gradually changed, and the image of China created in their journals also changed, but it was still difficult for Joseon Dynasty envoys to be free from the original social collective imagination and they created a contradictory image of China in their journals. This thesis is mainly based on Min Jeong-jung's Nobong Yeon-haeng Record,Kim Chang-op's Nogajae Yeon-haeng Diary and Lee Ui-hyeon's Gyeongja Yeon-haeng Record and summarized the image of China.By analyzing the changes of China's images under the background of the Kangxi Dynasty, the following conclusions are drawn: The shaping of the China image in " Yeon-haeng Record " during the Kangxi Dynasty is not static, but gradually presented more objective with the development of Chinese society. At the same time, the image of the "other" in journals is often not a single utopian model, nor is it completely modeled according to the social collective imagination, but is based on the conflict of the collective imagination and author's personal experience. Therefore, the image of China is not a single utopian model, nor is it completely modeled according to the collective imagination of the Joseon Dynasty. It is a contradiction and compromise under the collective imagination of the Joseon Dynasty and the personal experience of the Joseon Dynasty's envoys.
