This thesis, based on Robert Escarpit's creative treason theory,is conducted a case study of Anna Holmwood's English translation of She Diao Ying Xiong Zhuan. The author adopts the qualitative method and the paradigm of descriptive translation studies to analyze the translator's subjectivity in the English translation from the specific manifestation of creative treason----individualized translation and abridged translation.Combining case analysis with some factors that affect creative treason, the author of this thesis further explores the translator's selection of translation strategies and the consideration of creative treason and fidelity in the process of translation, aiming to probe the translator's subjectivity in the translation and its influence on the translation from the perspective of creative treason. The findings are as follows:the translator's subjectivity is embodied both in individualized translation and abridged translation. For individualized translation at linguistic level, the translator mostly employs the domestication translation strategy for words with corresponding expressions in English. At cultural level, the method of foreignization is used to deal with the words that are vacant in English, such as the culture-loaded words like sects and kung fu.As for the expressions of four-character words and idioms in the original text, the translator usually takes liberal translation for the convenience of the target readers. In the aspect of abridged translation, the translator makes a lot of omission and addition to the original text. This adjustment and modification of the text mainly takes into account the requirement and development of the story plot and increases the readability of the novel. In the legends of the condor heroes I:A Hero Born, the translator,on the one hand, largely retains the wuxia culture embodied in the original work and remains faithful to the original work.On the other hand, she tries her best to give consideration to the reading experience and acceptance of English readers in different language and cultural backgrounds,so as to extend the life of the original text and give it a second life. The results suggest that translation is not carried out in a vacuum, for the influence of many factors, the phenomenon of dislocation and loss in the translation process is inevitable, and creative treason is ultimately to achieve a higher level of loyalty. Therefore, literary translation cannot be separated from creative treason, and it is more comprehensive to analyze translation from the perspective of creative treason and take the translator's subjectivity and creativity into consideration.
