Objective: To understand the status quo and influencing factors of sleep of Freshmen in a medical college in the City of Wuhu.To explore the influence of mindfulness therapy on sleep problems of freshmen, and to explore new methods to solve their sleep problems. Methods: 723 freshmen from a university in Wuhu were selected and a questionnaire was distributed by cluster random sampling.700 valid questionnaires were collected on the spot. This questionnaire consists of general situation questionnaire, anxiety self-assessment scale,Psychological Resilience Scale and Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale.According to the medical ethics,48 patients with higher score of Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale were selected.48 subjects were randomly assigned to study group, control group and blank control group,16 in each group. The study group had mindfulness group activities once a week,1.5-2 hours each time;the control group hadmusic therapy once a week;the blank control group had no intervention. Before and after the research, three groups of subjects were tested and evaluated by anxiety self-assessment scale,Psychological Resilience Scale and Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale. Results: 1.The results of the survey showed that some of the 700 freshmen had sleep problems. The overall score of the sleep scale of freshmen is 10.99 ± 3.18,but the scores of sleep quality, sleep time and daytime dysfunction are generally high.2.The difference of sleep total score of different majors was statistically significant(p =0.001),which showed that the sleep total score of freshmen majoring in psychology was11.75 ± 4.06,significantly higher than nursing 11.45 ± 3.29,pharmacy 10.69 ± 2.45,forensic medicine 9.24 ± 2.38 freshmen.3.The influence of family monthly income on the total sleep score was statistically significant(p = 0.049),which showed that the total sleep score of family monthly income was 11.47 ± 4.32,significantly higher than that of family monthly income of 3000-5000,11.04 ± 2.88,5000-10000,10.66 ± 2.48,10.38 ±2.48.4.There was no statistics difference of sleep among freshmen in terms of gender, urban and rural sources and major disease history in the total score(p = 0.801,0.291,0.530).5.There was a significant difference in the total score of anxiety with or without disease history(p = 0.002).The score of anxiety of the students with disease history in freshmen was 31.72 ± 5.82,which was significantly higher than that of the students without disease history in freshmen.6.There was no statistics difference of communication anxiety in this investigation in terms of gender, urban and rural sources, major and family monthly income in the total score(p = 0.123,0.551,0.071,0.699).7.There is no statistical difference in the general demographic characteristics of the total score of psychological resilience of freshmen.8.To study the correlation between sleep factor scores and anxiety of freshmen,it was found that anxiety was positively correlated with sleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder and daytimedysfunction scores(r = 0.098,0.131,0.086,0.182,-0.418,0.252),but not with sleep quality and hypnotics.9.Multiple regression analysis showed that sleep disorder and daytime dysfunction had a positive predictive effect on the total score of anxiety.10.To study the correlation between the sleep factor scores and the psychological elasticity of freshmen. It was found that the psychological elasticity was negatively correlated with sleep quality, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder and daytime dysfunction(r =-0.167,-0.185,-0.211,-0.189,-0.151,-0.384),but not with hypnotics.11.Anxiety has a significant effect on sleep time, sleep disorder and daytime dysfunction. The total points of psychoelasticity has significant effects on sleep quality, sleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder and daytime dysfunction.12.Before the intervention:the scores of anxiety scale in the study group, the control group and the blank control group were 57.88 ± 6.28,56.56 ± 4.69 and 53.30 ± 3.63,respectively,with no statistics difference(p = 0.053).The sleep scale scores of the study group, the control group and the blank control group were 17.50 ± 1.25,16.68 ± 1.01 and 17.37 ± 1.25,respectively,with no statistical significance(p = 0.086);the psychological Resilience Scale scores of the study group, the control group and the blank control group were87.50 ± 13.75,87.13 ± 13.25 and 83.94 ± 11.05,respectively,with no statistical significance(p = 0.687).13.After the intervention, the Anxiety Scale score of the study group was 44.88 ± 5.24,the Anxiety Scale score of the control group was 52.31 ± 4.11,the Anxiety Scale score of the blank control group was 54.00 ± 4.06,the difference was statistically significant(p = 0.000);the sleep scale score of the study group was 7.06 ±1.53,the sleep scale score of the control group was 12.87 ± 0.88,the sleep scale score of the blank control group was 17.13 ± 1.31,the difference was statistically significant The difference was statistically significant(p = 0.000).14.Before and after the intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the total anxiety score, sleep score, and psychological flexibility in the experimental group(p < 0.05).There were significant differences in the total anxiety score and sleep score before and after the intervention inthe control group(p < 0.05).There was no significant difference in psychological flexibility(p = 0.761).There was no statistical significance in the blank control group(p > 0.05).Conclusion:1.Freshmen sleep worse, sleep quality has a significant impact on individual anxiety.2.Compared with music therapy, the implementation of mindfulness psychotherapy can effectively reduce the anxiety state of Freshmen with sleep problems, and improve their psychological flexibility.
