Research On Beijing Literature And Art From 1950 To 1966

Beijing Literature and Art(1950-1966),as the research object of this paper,was an important provincial and municipal literary journal during "17-year" Period.Through a case study of Beijing Literature and Art,this paper explores the complex gradual progress of the literary trend and the complex influence of the continuous changes literary environment on literary creation in the "17-year" Period.This paper consists of four chapters,including an overview of the history of Beijing Literature and Art,the relationship between Beijing Literature and Art and the literary trend,the relationship between Beijing Literature and Art and worker creation,and the journal's characteristic style and literary value.Beijing Literature and Art sponsored by Beijing federation of literary and art circles was founded in September 1950.Lao She was the editor-in-chief of Beijing Literature and Art.In December 1951,Beijing Literature and Art merged with Speaking and Singing,the most important popular art publication in China at that time.In October 1954,Beijing federation of literary and art circles held the second meeting of the representatives of the literary and art workers,deciding to expand the content of Speaking and Singing and renamed it Beijing Literature and Art.In May 1955,Beijing Literature and Art was found for the second time,and it was stopped in May 1966.Based on the analysis of the frequent changes of Beijing Literature and Art,I have a clearer understanding of the cautious living state of literary journals in the "17-year" Period.Beijing Literature and Art focused on a debate on the creation method of"Socialism Realism" in "Flowers times".Relatively speaking,satirical art and love poems gained more unhampered development in "Flowers times".The chapter focuses on the various manifestations of Beijing Literature and Art in literature and art criticism.Those who participated in the criticism defined the criticized in the way of ether this or that,causing a more negative effect on literary and art circles.Beijing Literature and Art focused on a debate on the creation method of "Socialism Realism" in "Flowers times".Meanwhile,the genres and subjcets of literary works published by Beijing Literature and Art were more diverse.In 1958,with the"greatleap forward" of production,the masses' art movement,taking worker-peasant-soldier as creative subject,prung up in Beijing Literature and Art.Worker creation was the focus of Beijing Literature and Art in the "17-year"Period.Beijing Literature and Art,as the most important comprehensive literary journals of Beijing federation of literary and art circles,provided a publication platform for outstanding workers' works emerging from the essay competition jointly held by Beijing federation of literary and art circles and other organizations.Meanwhile,Beijing Literature and Art also published the comments of professional writers about the worker creation.When it comes to worker creation of Beijing Literature and Art,the primary literary genres are fiction and poetry.The binary opposition of characters and the general "transformation" plot are set everywhere in workers' novels,even evolve into stereotype of writing.Praising workshop labor and catering to significant current affairs are primary themes of workers' poems which are full of high optimism,collectivism and patriotism.Generally speaking,becauseof poor aesthetics implications of workers' works,workers' creation cann't get rid of the fate of fast-growing and decaying.Catering to politics,pursuing popularization and pursuing localization are basic styles of Beijing Literature and Art.Beijing Literature and Art provided publication platform for new writers,actively organized literary reviews and helpd new writers grow,which reflected the positive value of Beijing Literature and Art.The editors of Beijing Literature and Art generally choosed and edited works according to the standard of politics,therefore literary works published in Beijing Literature and Art followed political tide.The excessive pursuit of political implication,to a certain extent,obscures the real life and damages aesthetics implications of literary workers.
