Sergei Rachmaninoff is one of the outstanding representatives of the late romanticism.“Love's Sorrow” is a piano transcription of Rachmaninoff's late creation. It was written in 1921 and adapted from Chrysler's Violin “Love's Sorrow”.Rachmaninoff uses the unique adaptation technique to give the music a new image in the form of piano solo. The unique technique of creation makes this work different from the original work.It has unique artistic characteristics and is difficult to play piano. At home and abroad, there are a lot of literature about Rachmaninoff and his works, but at present, there is a lack of research literature about Rachmaninoff's adaption, among which the text with the work of sadness of love as the research subject is blank. This paper consists of three chapters: one is to analyze the background of Rachmaninoff's life and creation;the other is to analyze the music ontology of his works;the third is to study the performance skills in sadness of love through the author's practice experience.
