In recent years,machine translation has been developing rapidly.With the introduction of the neural network technology,the quality of machine translation has been greatly improved,but it still does not meet the quality standards of the translation industry.Therefore,post-editing,as a method that would keep the balance between quality and time,has attracted the attention of translators,scholars and relevant enterprises,and is likely to become the mainstream working method in the translation service industry in the near future.The author of this report chooses four maritime accident briefs for the translation practice of machine translation and post-editing.From the perspectives of the characteristics of machine translation system and translation quality standards,the author analyses and sums up machine translation errors,explores post-editing methods and skills and then writes this translation report accordingly.This translation report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter briefly introduces the translation task conceemed.The second chapter introduces the translation process.The third chapter involves the detailed ease analysis,including term errors and post-editing methods,accuracy errors and post-editing methods,and other errors and post-editing methods as well.The fourth chapter summarizes the translation practice.The report is aimed at providing some reference for the post-editors by analyzing the types of machine translation errors in English-Chinese translation of maritime accident briefs and exploring the post-editing methods.It is hoped that this translation report could help to promote the academic research on the error types in machine translation and ost-editing,as well as the post-editing practice by professionals concerned.
