A Report On The E-C Translation Of Postpositive Attributives In "Facility Agreement"

To clarify the rights and obligations of the contracting parties,many postpositive attributives are used in English business contract to modify the terms and conditions of the contract."Facility Agreement" is a typical business contract text with a large number of complex postpositive attributives,which are difficult to translate.At the same time,these postpositive attributives form a very important part of such terms and conditions of the contract.Therefore,how to translate them smoothly and correctly is of great significance.Based on the translation of "Facility Agreement",the author divides the postpositive attributives in it into four categories,namely single postpositive attributives,multiple postpositive attributives,inclusive postpositive attributives and multi-inclusive postpositive attributives.Many translation methods for different postpositive attributives are studied and summarized,including prepositive method,blending method,postpositive method,reverse method paired with prepositive method,prepositive method paired with postpositive method,phrasing method and comprehensive method.For the purposes of this research,it is hoped that it can provide references for the translation of business contracts with a large number of postpositive attributives,so that translators can accurately convey the contents of English business contracts to the related parties,who can clarify the contents of business contracts,so as to better engage in business activities.
