Oscar Wilde is the famous dramatist and writer in Ireland in 19 th century.He shaped many female who had strong feminist spirit.They got rid of the status of high society decorations,having a separate personality.He formed a woman in Salome who dares to resist male authority and strives for her independent personality.In Salome,the heroine,Salome gets rid of her status as ornament in the upper class,she has subjective consciousness.She dislikes male domination and manipulation of female body desire with eyes.Female identity is defined by men according to their expectations.She changed from an angel to devil in order to fight for freedom.She used anti-gaze tactics to combat male Phyllis centralism,she contended for male voice and established female voice.Salome boldly pursuers her own desires and love in the face of the suppression and restraint of women' s desires by religious morality and the awakening of body consciousness.Salome's ending is tragic,but her spirit of resistance is worth learning from 19 th women.The purpose of this paper is to interpret the female image created in the script from the perspective of female identity,and to explore the reference significance of this image to the problem of female identity in the contemporary society.
