Research On The "Al-Qaeda" Branch "Al-Nusra Front"

Since 2011,the regional turmoil triggered by the Syrian civil war has irreversibly changed the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East,providing fertile soil for the growth of terrorism.The “Salafism” extreme thought has been reborn,and the “Al-Qaeda” branch “AlNusra Front” rises.“Al-Nusra Front”,with Idlib as its base camp,expanded to the surrounding area and became the largest extremist organization in Syria.The “Al-Nusra Front” violently confronted the local government and kidnapped,abused and executed other sectarian civilians,Stabilizing the situation in the region.Studying the “Al-Qaeda” has important practical significance.This paper is mainly composed of three parts.The first part introduces the reasons for the rise of “Al-Nusra Front”.“Al-Nusra Front” localized the“Salafism” extreme thoughts,kept a distance from the headquarters of “Al-Qaeda”,and united the “Ahrar al-Sham” and “East Turkistan” forces,and captured a large area of Syria in a short time.The second part made an inference about the development trend of the “AlNusra Front”.After the Astana meeting,the Assad government was committed to regaining the Idlib area,and the “Al-Nusra Front” lost its territory and moved to Lebanon,Jordan,Turkey and Central Asia.The third part proposes countermeasures.The “Al-Nusra Front” has close ties with Islamic extremist organizations in various countries,has rich combat experience and is capable of carrying out major terrorist activities,posing a challenge to regional security.In response to the threat of the “Al-Nusra Front”,countries have further expanded their cooperation,trying to eradicate the “Al-Nusra Front” in Syria,combating its foreign supporters and preventing its spread.
