Study On Prose Works Of Novel Monthly(1921-1931)

As a modern literary journal,Novel Monthly has been comprehensively innovated and gradually became one of the most influential literary publications since the first issue of volume 12,which was edited by Shen Yanbing in 1921.Although the reformed Novel Monthly is mainly composed of novels,it also publishes a large number of prose,poetry and other literary works,which had a great influence on the literary world whether in the concept of writing or the aesthetic pursuit.Prose,as the second major style of Novel Monthly after the reform,was especially outstanding under the editorship of Ye Shengtao.These prose works have formed the unique characteristics of Novel Monthly and reflect the development of modern vernacular prose.This paper will take the prose works of the Novel Monthly(1921-1931)as the entry point to explore the theme style,artistic characteristics and unique significance of the prose works published in this period.The full text is divided into three parts:introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction of the paper gives a brief overview of the current research on the monthly news of the novel,and clarifies the reasons for the selection of this topic and the innovation of the paper.The first chapter respectively tease out the publishing situation of the prose works of Novel Monthly in the editing period of Shen Yanbing,Zheng zhendou and Ye Shengtao,and summarize the different characteristics and reasons of these three periods.The second chapter combined with the in-depth analysis of the specific text,studies the prose works after the reform of Novel Monthly from an overall perspective.It also explores the artistic features of Novel Monthly in this period from the creation theme and the creation characteristics.The third chapter considering the great significance of the prose of Novel Monthly from modern prose and schools.The creation of this period made a powerful exploration and practice in the early stage of the development of modern prose.Theirstyle and temperament of the prose are also inherited and developed by other prose writers including the Baima Lake School.
