Korea and China are geographically close neighbors and politically close to each other. On the basis of geographical advantage,Korea and China established stable state relations, namely Suzerain-vassal relations. With the expansion of western capitalism, the treaty system entered East Asia, and there was a conflict with “the order of the Chinese and Foreign” in East Asia.Under the intrusion of the great powers, the subordinate countries around China broke away from the“ Chinese and Foreign circle” one after another, and even the Qing government faced the danger of being divided by the great powers. As the only subordinate country of the Qing Dynasty,Korea had a strong sense of crisis. From the1880 s to the 1890 s,in order to safeguard the national interests,From the attachment to China,to the wavering of the view of China, and then to the independent movement of "Eliminate China’s interference and achieve autonomy",especially the "Jia Shen coup" and the "Park Dingyang incident," all demonstrate Korea’s firm determination to seek national independence and autonomy. And the Qing Dynasty all-round interference policy strong discontent and revolt. However, due to the long-term influence of Sino-Korean Suzerain-vassal relations,Korea cannot guarantee the effectiveness and full autonomy of its foreign policy, and as a country without strong national support,it is very difficult to achieve real "independence".In the process of achieving independence,it failed to recognize the real purpose of Japan and other countries in a timely manner, and was often instigated by Japan and other countries.Eventually became a colony of Japan after the Sino-Japanese War.It has a great significance to study the history of Sino-Korean relations by investigating the evolution of Korea’s relations with China in 1880’s and 1890’s.The independent movement after the founding of Korea was a revolt against the Sino-Korean Suzerain-vassal relationship for more than 200 years. As the only subordinate country in the Qing Dynasty, his challenge to the Suzerain-vassal system was far more meaningful than that of the imperialist powers. This marks the end of the patriarchal system that has gone through thousands of years.
