To meet the needs of Applied Psychological talents in the development of social economy, our country set up a professional degree in Master of Applied Psychology(MAP),and began enrolling students from 2011.However,in the actual training process,MAP didn’t better reflect the characteristics of professional degree, which had something in common with Master of Science in Applied Psychology(MSAP).This study used the "China Master’s Theses Full-text Database" as the data source, and a total of 1543 MAP’s theses and 1448 MSAP’s theses in 22 universities from2013 to 2017 were compared analysis through bibliometric method.By analyzing the literature volume, cited frequency, download frequency, keywords,Chinese Library Classification(CLC)and research field of the two types of master’s theses, this paper summarized the research status of the two types of master’s theses, and hope to provide reference for later researchers. This study focused on revealing the status of MAP’s theses, and the main conclusions were as follows:(1)The number of MAP’s theses in 2013~2017 was on the rise, and the number of MSAP’s theses showed a downward trend, which reflecting the rising status of MAP.(2)By Mann-Whitney U test the overall ranking of cited frequency or download frequency, and found that MAP was significantly lower than MSAP;MAP’s theses had more uncited articles, and a small number of papers had higher cited frequency and download frequency;it could be seen that the quality difference between MAP’s theses was large.(3)Cluster analysis showed that the high frequency keywords of MAP have a high degree of association, which reflects the lack of richness of keywords in MAP’s theses.(4)From 55.08% of MAP’s theses belong to 5 CLC,it could be seen that the research content is too concentrated, and the number of MAP’s theses in the application field is less than the basic field, which indicates that the topic selection lacks application-oriented.
