Chen Qian is a novelist with distinctive characteristics who engages in the new immigrant literature creation. She is also one of the most powerful contemporary Chinese literature writers. In recent years, she has received more and more attention from scholars at home and abroad.Chen Qian's novels insist on exploring the inner dilemmas of human beings. And through setting various misplaced patterns in her novels, she presents the human lives in the process of self-rescue and after the failure of redemption, and then highlight the human landscape that is obscured by history and reality. It is noteworthiness that, not only in the length of writing but also in the depth of engraving, the descriptions of the “new” lives of new immigrants in Chen Qian's works are out of reach. Therefore, the subjects of Chen Qian's novels are often built on the "new" lives of the other side, and her novels are shrouded in romantic tones of exotic views, which make Chen Qian's works exude a unique narrative charm.Based on this, this paper argues that “the dilemma and redemption of the other shore” is not only the profound theme of Chen Qian's novels, but also the power of Chen Qian's novels, which makes Chen Qian's novels stand out. This paper mainly elaborates the aesthetic connotation and literary history value of Chen Qian's novels from three parts. The first part starts from the theme of "self-fulfilfilment" and explores Chen Qian's novels on multiple considerations of human spiritual dilemma, redemptive consciousness and human destiny. The second part takes the misplaced narrative as the key entrance to Chen Qian's novels, and analyzes the misplaced scenes involving people and self, people and people and people and history in the novel, then explores the profound skill of Chen Qian's novels in narrative techniques and the resulting narrative effect. The third part cuts into the ideological connotation, artistic features and value significance of Chen Qian's novels from the perspective of foreign vision. At the same time,Chen Qian's novels are embedded in certain vertical and horizontal coordinates. This paper tries to present the unique charm and literary history value of Chen Qian's novels more objectively and meticulously by comparing Chen Qian's novels with other immigrant literatures or local writers' works. The rich connotation of Chen Qian's novels in terms of theme implication, narrative features and cultural perspectives all implies the possibility of multipleinterpretations of novels, attracting readers and scholars. Therefore,an in-depth and comprehensive study of Chen Qian's novels may provide some perspectives and paths for overseas immigrant literature and Chinese contemporary literature.
