Overlap is a very common linguistic phenomenon in Chinese.Almost all notional word classes can overlap.Through the field investigation and the existing literature on the Huai'an dialect, the paper makes a detailed study on the overlapping phenomenon in Huai'an dialect. In this paper, the verbs and quantifiers in the Huai'an dialect and the more specific overlapping sentence--overlapping questions are the research objects.Mainly from the aspects of structural form, grammatical function, grammatical meaning and pragmatic function, combined with the synchronic and diachronic comparison and investigation to study and explore the overlapping phenomenon in Huai'an dialect. There are four main types of quantifier overlap in Huai'an dialect: AA,,A quantity A quantity,AAA type and "A Ba A" type.Among them, the AAA-type quantifier overlap mainly has three characteristics: one by one,all round and subjective more amount. It can be used as subject, attributive and adverbial in the sentence, mainly distributed in Jianghuai Mandarin,Wuyu,Jiaoliao Mandarin and Central Plains Mandarin."A Ba A" can be attributed to the AXA-style quantifier affixing overlap, generally used for the approximate number and subjective small amount, can be used as the subject, object, attribute and adverbial in the sentence,AXA type has considerable in Chinese dialect Widely distributed, there are a large number of use cases in dialect areas such as Hakka dialect,Wu dialect,Jianghuai Mandarin, and Gan dialect. There are six main types of verb overlap in Huai'an dialect: AA,AABB,ABAB,AAB,"Lian V Shi V",and "VV+ complement".Among them, the "Lian V Shi V" type has two characteristics: "high frequency, repeated" and "action haste".It can be used as predicate, adverbial and complement in the sentence. This format is common in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Among the works of Jiangsu and Zhejiang authors, the production time was probably in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it has existed for at least two hundred years. In the "VV+ complement" format, the verbs are required to have the characteristics of [+ autonomous],[+ controllable],and [+action],and the slang and Wu languages also have this format. The overlapping repetitive question in Huai'an dialect, that is,the VV(0)form,uses the overlapping form of the negative words in the positive and negative questions. From the composition point of view, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and prepositions can enter overlapping repeated questions. It is mainly distributed in Wu dialect,Xiang dialect,Jianghuai Mandarin,Southwestern Mandarin and Central Plains Mandarin, and considering its source,we believe that it is generated by negation or shedding of negative words.Through cross-dialect synchronic comparison,we find that several special overlapping forms in Huai'an dialect are also concentrated in dialects such as Wu,Yi and Xiang dialects. We believe that this is closely related to the language contact generated by the Hongwu immigrants in the Ming Dynasty.
