A Textual Research On Year And Location Of Frontier Garrison Literati During The Song And The Xia War Of Renzong Dynasty

The history of the Song and the Xia war lasted for a long time,which could be roughly divided into five stages.The first is the battle of LiJiqian seizing the old land of Xia during the SongTaizong and SongZhenzong period.The second is the three battles during the SongRenzong period.The third is the battle of XiHe,YongLe and LanZhou during SongShenzong period.The fourth is the defense battle of PingXia during SongZhezong period and the last is the battle of RenDuoquan and TongAn during SongHuizong period.Throughout the battles between the northern song and the western xia,SongRenzong dynasty was the boundary.Thus it can be seen that the three campaigns of the SonRenzong dynasty served as a warning and reference for the later wars of Song dynasty.During the song and the xia war of Renzong dynasty,the western xia state was established and the wars in a relatively prosperous period.And LiYuanhao was good at using military tactics.Therefore,the campaign of the song and xia dynasties in this period was characterized by the active attack of the western xia,while the northern song adopted a passive resistance policy.In addition,under this background,there are many literati,not only famous writers such as Fan Zhongyan,Han Qi and so on,but also many scholars who defend the border,including Fan Yong,Pang Ji.And even Mei Yao-Chen,Su Shun-chin and Liu Chang,whose poems are closely related to the war in the Song Renzong Dynasty.These poems are divided into six categories according to their contents,including direct description of war scenes,summary of post-war experiences,records of scenery on the frontier,reflection of the suffering of the people after the war,and poems given to the side by friends.Most of these poems reflect the cruel scene of the Renzong-Song-Xia war.The abominable natural environment reflects the psychological state of the inner fighting spirit and helplessness of the garrison literati,and has a very strong implication of innuendo reality.Because the Song and the Xia war of Song Renzong Dynasty began in the first year of JingYou(1034),and the negotiation of the war ended in the four years of QingLi(1044),so this article is the main line of the time of the ten years from the year of JingYou to the four years of QingLi periods.This paper makes a textual research on 20 important frontier garrison scholars and poems related to them during the Song and the Xia war of Renzong Dynasty.After the analysis of basic information has been made clear,the basic general information of literati and the information of the time and place of poetry and prose creation have been presented in the form of tables during this period.Through such investigation and research,the life activities,the official migration and the literary creation of scholars during the Song and the Xia war have been restored and displayed vividly,comprehensively and objectively.In addition to this,it also contributed to form the overall understanding and grasp of the Song and the Xia war of Renzong Dynasty,the frontier garrison literati and the related poems and articles.
