The idea of "friendship" occupies an extremely important position in Aristotle's ethics and it plays a role in linking personal virtues to civic happiness.Friendship is an indispensable virtue for people. When we get along with friends,we will do good things for each other because of friendship.Aristotle also said that "friendship is the bond that connects people to city-states." so friendship is also political. In the community, the maintenance of justice relies on the law to restrict citizens from doing illegal things. However, how to guide the citizens' souls to the good and moral direction must be through friendship, promote the love between citizens, and build a stronger the ethical atmosphere makes the whole more cohesive. This article first explains the source and background of Aristotle's fraternal thoughts, understands the views of former philosophers on fraternal thoughts and their views, and examines how Aristotle inherits or criticizes the thoughts of former philosophers. And what role this idea plays in Aristotle's ethics.Secondly, through the analysis of the definition and nature of the friendship,it clarifies what kind of friendship is in Aristotle's view, and compares the three kinds of friendships and distinguishes the characteristics and differences between them.Once again, after understanding the friendships that Aristotle pursues, combined with the nature of its fraternity,it analyzes the factors needed to achieve fraternity and explains the functions of these factors. The fourth is to point out the difficult problems encountered in studying Aristotle's friendly thoughts. For example,Aristotle's friendship comes from self-love,then whether friendship is a narrow self-interest,or seems to be for friends themselves.Sacrifice, but in fact just use it as a means to make yourself noble. After analyzing the problem and summarizing the root cause of the difficulty in the research process, the question is tentatively answered. The last part is that the study of Aristotle's fraternal thoughts can play an important role in guiding the country and the individual. On the one hand,if the country is full of friendship, then the country must be fair and harmonious because Its internal members can respect each other and care, create a good ethical atmosphere, and the nationals can't cohesion. On the other hand,an individual who is full of love not only loves himself but also loves others.Such people yearn for and pursue higher things and will not disturb their minds because of external temptation.
