Research On Design Art In Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition(GILE)is a large-scale cultural and art event held in the urban public space.It has an 8-year history since its first exhibition and now is renowned at home and abroad.GILE meets citizens' deep need for culture and art,that's why it would be held successfully and become popular.With its growing influence on urban culture,GILE plays a positive role in promoting urban cultural exchanges and cooperation,building a harmonious society,and enhancing citizens' cultural identity.This thesis takes GILE as a research object and discusses all previous GILEs in different aspects to seek the way for creatively expressing the combination of art of lighting and local culture.It outlines and summarizes the development history of GILE and its positive effect on urban culture.It mainly studies and elaborates the Lingnan implication and its design art expression,and the aesthetic characteristics in GILE by adopting the methods of proof by cases and inductive analysis,and taking the lighting art works of GILE as cases.It elaborates the Lingnan implication from three aspects: the expression vectors of Lingnan culture,the inheritance and innovation of Lingnan historical culture,and the characteristics of Lingnan art spirit;it discusses the expression of design art in GILE from four aspects,i.e.light and shadow,color,model,and space;it explores the aesthetic characteristics of GILE in five aspects including integration,interaction,symbolism,simplicity and fun.By comparing and analyzing the lighting art works in GILE,Lyon Light Festival and Sydney Light Festival,this thesis further studies the current situation of GILE,explores its inadequacies,and then makes suggestions for the sustainable development of the future lighting exhibitions.I hope to provide suggestions and help for the future GILE and other similar events.Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition,which combines traditional culture with modern technology and integrates culture,art and technology together,demonstrates the essence of local art culture and highlights the uniqueness of Lingnan culture through diverse expression of lighting art.From the perspective of regional culture,this thesis analyzes and studies the lighting art works in GILE,and explores the unique artistic nature shown in the combination of lighting art with regional culture.It is a leap of inheritance of the essence of Lingnan art to integrate Lingnan culture into lighting art design.This thesis is the first one tocomprehensively analyze the design art expression of GILE since the first GILE,and has a certain degree of innovative significance.In summary,with the reflection and research in the field of lighting design,this thesis has strong academic value and practical significance.
