This report material is from Lighting Retrofit and Relighting, an architecture and lightingdesign book. This book is about lighting systems, lighting retrofit process and their economicvalue. This report material is from chapter three and four, mainly about high intensitydischarge systems and special applications lighting.This translation report includes five parts: task description, process description, caseanalysis and conclusion. The original material belongs to scope of scientific writing. Thistranslation activity is based on Relevance Theory. When translating, translators should knownot only the meaning of the sentence, but also know deep meaning and deep logic of thesentence. Then according to the cognitive context of the reader, translators get the optimalrelevance and make the suitable translated text. The main part of this report is case analysis,these cases are analyzed with Relevance Theory.Through this translation practice, the author realizes that theory and practice are closelyrelated and promote each other. Translators should learn translation theories well and practicea lot. They should also improve their own quality, strengthen their basic skills of languageand cultural qualities.
