Study On The Phenomenon Of Homecoming Writing Upsurge From The Perspective Of Urban-Rural Relations

In recent years,“homecoming writing” has become a cultural hot spot full of communication power and internal tension.This phenomenon arises in the process of the transformation from “rural China” to “urban and rural China”.It is a complex emotional expression of the intellectuals born in the countryside combining their personal experience with the social reality of “rural decline” and their difficult position in the urban areas.After the emergence of the relevant texts,it has aroused extensive discussion from all walks of life on the rural-urban relationship,nostalgia,the future path of the intellectuals who were born in the countryside and other topics.As for the rich connotation of this phenomenon,it has not yet been fully discussed in the academic circles.Based on the rural-urban relationship,this paper,connecting the representative texts and evolution in the phenomenon of “homecoming writing upsurge”,by the methods of close reading,cultural analysis and media criticism,discusses the different stages and characteristics of the phenomenon of “homecoming writing upsurge”,and analyzes three kinds of evolution and their cultural implications,including “homecoming”,“narration of rural resentment” and “homecoming writing”.And it will also give an analysis of the social basis and the structure of feelings of the homecoming writing by viewing the tension-filled cultural phenomenon as a syndrome.In this paper,“homecoming writing” is defined as the writing practice of thinking in which the intellectual youth who grew up in the countryside and then received higher education and work in the city,taking advantage of the opportunity of the holiday to return to their hometown,record the changes in their hometown in a non-fictional way.“Homecoming writing” gives its touch on the “three dimensional issues” of rural China that do exist in the local society and the social structure problems in the process of urbanization,but the response to the “homecoming writing” text is not all the same because of the different communication ways.Compared with Liang Hong's text,which mainly receive its media reports and literary discussions by way of the spread of literary periodicals;Wang Leiguang and Huang Deng's writing is spread mainly by self-media and on the Internet,and has been more widely discussed under the great influence of communication.With the participation of writers,readers and the media,the “homecoming writing” has evolved into the “homecoming writing upsurge”.If “homecoming writing” is the writer's nostalgic writing of rural issues,then the “homecoming writing”,which exposes the multiple problems in his hometown,has been solidified into a formatted “homecoming style” under the profit-seeking of the new media.The youth fearing of returning in small town created the “township resentment” writing in Spring Festival to redeem them.Village of various kinds in the hustle and bustle of the network exists as a completely negative image,with its voice not being heard.In fact,it is the complex emotion and stereotyped imagination of the countryside in the dramatically transformation from “rural China” to “urban and rural China”.“Homesickness” and “rural resentment” seem contradictory to each other;instead,it is the inseparability from the hometown far away and the helplessness of the city predicament in the entanglement of “township decline” and “urban hardship”.Discussion about the countryside on a factual basis is not conducive to the solution of rural issues.In reality,a more constructive evolution is “rural reconstruction”.Only by facing up to a sense of powerlessness,can we imagine a new urban-rural relationship between urban-rural interaction and diverse writing.On the basis of analyzing the spread and evolution of “homecoming writing upsurge”,this paper aims to study the social basis,emotional structure and cultural connotation reflected by the phenomenon of the “homecoming writing upsurge”,which is a cultural representation under the joint force of “rural decline” and “urban hardship” in the process of the great transformation from the countryside of China to urban and rural China,and is also the emotional expression of intellectuals born in the countryside between urban and rural areas.It is not only full of the thinking of intellectuals over the process of rural social development,but also the presentation of the writer's personal life experience.The interweaving identity of intellectual and peasant entangles the writers between urban and rural areas in the “homecoming writing”.In the background of the “homesickness” of the phenomenon,it is expected to rediscover the value of the countryside and to think about a new and integrated urban-rural relationship.
