| Under the trend of globalization,cooperation between countries around the world is deepening.As a widely used language in the world,English’s international position has been improved increasingly.Meanwhile,English also received more and more attention of education sectors in non-English-speaking countries.In China,the primary school stage as a starting point for students to learn English,affects the English learning in the subsequent stages of the students.How to stimulate students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning English in the English class is a key issue for primary school English teachers.Game teaching is one of the important methods to cultivate primary school students’ interest in English learning.A considerable number of primary schools have used this teaching method in English class.However,it has been found that game teaching generates many problems from time to time after investigation,such as classroom disorder,low game efficiency,and low participation rate.This paper mainly uses five methods,such as literature research method,questionnaire method,interview method,case study method,observation method and other research methods to investigate the current situation of English teaching in the third grade of primary school in Hongshan District,Wuhan province.Based on the survey,designing game teaching cases to meet needs of students in the third grade and conduct practical researches.Through post-test questionnaires and unit test scores to verify the effect of implementing game teaching and finally put forward the countermeasures for implementing game teaching based on those conclusions.At the same time,it also can provide reference of game teaching to first-line English teachers in primary schools.This paper is divided into three parts,the first part is: theoretical research analysis.In the theoretical research part,this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of game teaching through a large number of literature studies,and defines the concept of English game teaching,referring to Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences,Piaget’s theory of children’s cognitive development,and Kemp’s theory of teaching design.The second part is: the investigation of the current situation of English teaching in the third grade of primary school in Hongshan District,Wuhan province through the interview and classroom observation method.The third part is: analysis of practical teaching case design.Aiming at the problems in teaching and according to Kemp’s teaching design concept,various teaching cases,which is conformed to the current English class are established,involving vocabularies,sentence structure,song-style teaching and story-style teaching through analyzing the characteristics of English game teaching and combining with the analysis of relevant factors of English teaching in primary school and according to the combination of the characteristics of textbook content of the Cambridge English version and the physiological development features of the third grade students.The application of Game teaching in English class of primary school has been deeply discussed in this paper.After testing the post-test questionnaires and unit tests,the students’ academic performances are analyzed and conclusions can be drawn.Based on this conclusion,put forwarding to countermeasures for using game teaching English teaching in primary school,which provides a certain reference for a majority of English teachers.In the course of the investigation,this paper finds that there is a lack of professional knowledge of game teaching in the teaching of primary school English.Therefore,there is a lack of professional game teaching case design.The design of the game does not conform to the development of the students.The game cannot face the whole.student.Based on this situation,the author puts forward relevant optimization strategies,teachers improve teaching skills,rationally design game teaching,and the game is aimed at all students,and the evaluation method is improved in the teaching process.These optimization strategies can promote primary school English teachers to start from the actual needs of students,optimize the teaching process,improve the problems in the application process of game teaching,and constantly improve the quality of teachers’ teaching,so that students’ learning and teacher’s teaching are developed together. |
