| Movie poster,the kind of traditional advertisement,has the history of more than 100 years.Generally,the movie poster is designed to promote film or highlight the theme of film.With the development of society,movie has become the product of spirit consumption under the influence of the mainstream culture and now it is accelerating its convergence with new media in the era of Internet and information.As the main method for promoting film,movie poster has transformed its design forms and the forms of communication.By using computer technology,the mode to present poster picture is becoming animated,which enrich the visual effect of picture greatly.Meanwhile,due to the multi-convergence of various factors,the new form in movie poster design has appeared.The new media technology is developed as Internet develops.This technology has transformed the communication carrier of movie poster from the traditional one like paper carrier to the new multi-carriers like network devices and mobile electronic devices.At the same time,by applying electronic information technology,the information could be conveyed in wider space with higher efficiency at an unprecedented level.Thus,the design and the communication of traditional movie poster are further improved.Each people in the society could spread and share information in any corner of the world at any time,because the communication form has transformed from traditional form like broadcast,newspaper and television to new form with mobile network as its feature in new media background.In consideration of design and application of movie poster and transformation of communication carrier under new media era,I suppose it is necessary to do research and analysis to improve the understanding of future movie poster design,so as to enhance our ability of innovation.I have introduced the relevant information about movie poster first,then give brief introduction about the emergency and development of new media,make comparison between traditional media and new media and then state their related features respectively.After making the comparison between traditional media and new media,I have analyzed the existing problems of movie poster design.And with the analysis of Internet data and cases,I have summarized the features of poster design and its carriers.I have found that there are three major challenges of design and application of movie poster in the era of new media.The challenges are as followed:Firstly,the innovation in designing.The visual effect is greatly enhanced with post-processing of computer technology as more factors,such as pictures,audios and videos,are integrated into the poster.The occurrence of movie poster with dynamic effect and interactivity could bring better communication effects since the audiences could enjoy more powerful visual impact.Secondly,the transformation of communication carrier.Traditionally,movie poster would use paper media as its communication carrier,while with the development of mobile Internet,mobile phones are becoming the major carrier for communication and movie poster would like use mobile media to promote the film.Thirdly,more choices in communication carrier.At present,the poster no longer use paper as its carrier for promoting.Instead,it would like to use new carriers as these carriers could promote the film on different network platforms,mobile electronic devices and outdoor screens,because by using the new one,the communication effects and influence could be greatly enhanced and the channels to receive information could be diversified. |
